People. Religion is basically, a set of rules that can be applied to our lives, so that we live as kind, considerate, generous, forgiving, and just people. But that is all that religions are..rules which provide a spiritual support system.
It's PEOPLE that are evil or good. People make decisions about how to treat and obey or disobey the rules that were given.

The system is designed to separate us more than to unite us thus the evil is bred within the mind of the religious against people of different faiths. Without religion, we have a better chance of moving forward.

Sadly, religion in general has taken a hit because the Abrahamic religions have a history of vilence. There are so many other religions that have no violence in their history and don't really do anything but serve their people.

people. realistically, do you think any good hearted person will turn to murder because of religion? If you look at any religion most of its followers are not evil, the evil ones are a small proportion. Religion does not make people evil, people make religion evil.

Really just the people. Not every person in a certain religion can possibly be evil.

Religion alone isn't evil. It's just pointless and un-necessary. Religion was created by people to give others a reason and a basis for a functional society, since we have more common sense these days we don't need it anymore.

People. Religion is a metaphor on how to live your life, it's when people confuse the metphor for fact that's when we get into trouble. People bend the word and the metaphor in order to justify their own reasoning and beliefs.

I believe that the people are evil because a person can twist the teaching of the original scriptures to make their veiwpoint no matter how violent or radical to make it seem good.

I would not call religion inherently evil. In most cases it might be applied with the best intentions. However, religion is misleading and deluding, and radicalizing in some cases, and therefore can lead to evil results.
