Abstainance is not having sex until marriage. That's all. Some people however discourage doing anything more sexual than hugging.

Abstainance is pretty stupid. It's not mentioned in the Bible, and removes much of the fun of being a teenager.

I am not a Catholic, but I am gonna answer anyway. I am a born again Christan and was told by my mentor that any kind of sex is sex. To be abstinent is absolutely no sex of any kind! This sucks because I am a widow & know what I am missing. This means if you kiss NO tongue. No "massaging" each other. In this case if it feels like it could lead to more, stop.

I don't think kissing is bad, but anything that envolves anything below the neck is. Long make out sessions are probably not good. To me, saving yourself means everything that is private to you, should remain private until you are married. I was a virgin before I was married, as was my husband. We learned about sex and how to do "it" together. It made it less embarrassing and more special that way.

well this applies to ALL Christians, even catholics because they are still Christians. but uhm...u can kiss with or without tongue...doesnt matter...as long as u dont go to 3rd base. there is no sex.i dont really know what 1st 2nd 3rd base is...i know that 1st base is like kissing the person i guess...i dont about 2nd base though...and 3rd base is sex i guess. but there is no sex...not at all.
u can kiss with or without tongue, u cant do anything that involves sex or taking ur clothes off in any way.

sexual gratification either of self or your partner. This includes orally or otherwise. The veil in the Temple was split down the middle much like a female hymen is torn during the first sexual act in order for the male to be able to penetrate to "The Holy of Holys". This is where life begins , this is why women's bodies are to be revered and kept holy until marriage.

I don't think you're gonna make it very far with this whole celibacy/abstinence thing, I only got through 19 hours. No sex, kissing, touching, masturbating.

I'm not sure the Pope has officially worked it out; but it's been established that teenage girls who take "virginity pledges" are six times as likely to perform oral sex, and four times more likely to allow anal.

Typical story of repression. You simply exaggerate what you're trying to deny.

Kissing is okay with and without the tongue. No clothes should ever be removed or hands inside clothing, it will lead to sex.

Anything that doesn't lead to lust or the act itself, or you could go as far as abstaining from anything that might lead to tempation. I don't find anything wrong with kissing as long as it doesn't lead to sin.

I would go with sex, but I am neither Catholic nor Christian.
