Currently we have Wars and Genocide taking place all over the world. Prisons are overcrowding, famine is common place and the environment is being destroyed.

Politicians and international organizations such as the U.N. have been trying to solve these problems with the same results.

Bureacracy, corruption and selfishness keeps interfering and often further complicating existing problems.

If these bureaucrats worked under the laws prescribed in Islam wouldn't we be more productive in attaining world peace.

I am not saying that if everyone converted but if the bureaucrats worked under the principles of looking out for everyone just as they would for themselves and being open minded to ideas, customs, beliefs etc. that conflict with their own, I think that things would be whole lot better.

To me, from an outside perspective, I can't think of too many examples in which an organized religion has really promoted female equality. Maybe, Epsicopalians, because they support the ordination of women....

Just look at the Baptists, who have openly come out against having female preachers.

Look at the Muslim community, and Amish Community where women have to wear a veil.

Do you think the Dali Lama would ever be a woman? Even Scientology is focused around a guy. Muhammed, Jesus, and Moses were all men, no surprise there. Do you think an orgainzed religion would ever be focused around a woman? How often to your hear God referred to as a "she"?

So women, my question is this. Why do you put up with these stupid religions that seem to be so focused on keeping you one step behind men?

.....then do you believe in dragons? santa claus? a flat earth? atlantis? all of these things are just as unprovable and sometimes as laughable as believing that an all powerful entity "created" mankind. why isn't there any mention of dinosaurs in the bible? are all those huge fossils in museums all across the world fake because the bible says nothing of them? have you considered the possibility that we could really be just an alien experiment gone awry? that "god" might be a little gray dude who flew away in his saucer billions of years ago to leave us to our fate? that scenario is no more ridiculous than god creating the world in seven days, is it?

Should we have sub-divisions of each religion? Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Satanism, Paganism, Mormons, etc?
Would this help to resolve the constant arguments? Or, would it just make picking fights with other religious people a lot easier?

There was a question asked about this recently and examples of the laws (from the book of Leviticus) were given.
Those laws were given specifically to the Jews so that they may not blend in with the Greeks. It was imparative that they stayed separate so that they would assimilate into the Greeks and their lifestyle. It worked because the Jews because their own people with their own identity.
If you recall in Acts 10th chapter, God tested Peter on this issue. Peter denied those things that caused him to break those laws, but God told him not to over look the things that God made. This was to prep him for his journey to the home of the Gentile, Cornelius, where he ended up teaching to many. This act erased the notion that "God was only for the Jews." This, though being a good question, is actually pretty easy.

Ur thoughts?

If Jesus was GOD

If Jesus was GOD, then why in Mark 12:29 Jesus said "Here, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord." The words "our God" indicate that Jesus had a higher God over him, a stronger God than him. Jesus didn't say "Your God". He said "our God" which includes Jesus as the creation of GOD.

If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 20:17 Jesus said I ascend to my God and your God? This tells us that we and Jesus have a common GOD.

If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 8:28 Jesus said "I do nothing of myself"? Can't GOD do anything he wills?

If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 14:28 Jesus said "My Father (GOD) is greater than I"?If Jesus was GOD, then why in Luke 23:46 Jesus said "Father (GOD), into thy hands I commend my spirit"?

If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 19:16 Jesus said "Why call me good, there is none good but One, that is GOD"?

(i will continue just wait)

The Judiazers have been active in the last 40 years and many Christians support Jews and the jewish religion.
Christians keep saying that the jews still have a covenent with God and are still his people.
That is wrong because there is a new covenent with Jesus and you need Jesus for salvation. The jews stopped being God's chosen people when they rejected Jesus. God doesn't owe them any land or favor. There is nothing divine about the current nation of Israel.
How many agree?

It has absolutely no evidence...Of course if it helps people lead a moral life, well then go with it...but it amazes me how frequently people equate it with, or claim that it is superior to science...faith has nothing to do with evidence, peer review, reproducible results people...if ya cant handle it then fine....but dont say the bible is better than science when it is all faith--IT HAS NO DATA!!!.....QUESTION: As a human, I have a brain and the first thing I am gonna do with it is turn it back in and not use my ability to reason, but just believe something because someone said it is the "truth"?? sheesh....I prefer to use my time on earth and since I have the ability to reason, I feel good about my ability to have independent thoughts!

if you don't believe in God, doesn't mean that he's not Real.. is like if I ask you.. do you believe that i have $340,000 saved in the bank and I already have a House, plus a 2005 Lotus elise and i'm 24 years old! well, Many of you won't believe unless I show it to you!! but if you want to know that all these things i have are real!! you will have to come to me and find out!!! many of you will not come here at all, and I will never see you in my life!! so it's the same thing with God.

In order for you to know him - you will have to come to him! and he'll make you understand that he's real not with the human mind but with a humble heart..

So you don't have to see the things phisically to believe in them!!

I have seen pictures of Jewish families celebrating Passover with the Seder meal. The pictures are of the moment when the youngest child is asking the 4 questions. All the adults at the table have books open next to their plates.
What are these books?
And why are they there?

I am looking for God, and i want answers. This may sound silly, but i take this very seriously.

I have been pouring over various religious beliefs and doctrines in search of God/gods and i cant seem to find him.

I started my search with Christianity, but i didnt find God in it, all i found was a sadistic 3 year old who likes murdering unbelievers.

Allah, didnt make it too far on my list either.

I have heard different people make different claims, like *You gotta let God talk to you* or *God will reveal himself to you if you look hard enough.

I am looking, and am finding nothing, I only have enough proof in my mind that their is something out their beyond human comprehension, but whatever that "thing" is, obviously has no desire to have me as a follower.

I dont feel a warm fuzzy sensation, i dont hear a comforting voice, i dont get my prayers answered.

All i want, is to find God, has anyone had any luck?

throw down his staff and turn it into a snake. why did god make the staff turn into the symbol of satan? the creature he cursed in genesis?

Exodus 4:4
Then the LORD said to him, "Reach out your hand and take it by the tail." So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand.

Pascal's Wager: There are two choices. Believe in God or don't believe. It makes more sense to believe than not to believe.

"Therefore, we are faced with the following possibilities:

* You believe in God.
o If God exists, you go to heaven: your gain is infinite.
o If God does not exist, your loss (the investment in your mistaken belief) is finite and therefore negligible.
* You do not believe in God.
o If God exists, you go to hell: your loss is infinite.
o If God does not exist, your gain is finite and therefore negligible. (courtesy of wikipedia.)"

Now there are two major problems with this. First, you can't always help what you believe. I myself struggled to believe in Christianity before finally coming to the conclusion it was all a lie. I wanted to believe but I couldn't. Second, why would God want you to believe in Him just so you can go to heaven and not go to Hell.

Very bad argument for belief.
