There was a question asked about this recently and examples of the laws (from the book of Leviticus) were given.
Those laws were given specifically to the Jews so that they may not blend in with the Greeks. It was imparative that they stayed separate so that they would assimilate into the Greeks and their lifestyle. It worked because the Jews because their own people with their own identity.
If you recall in Acts 10th chapter, God tested Peter on this issue. Peter denied those things that caused him to break those laws, but God told him not to over look the things that God made. This was to prep him for his journey to the home of the Gentile, Cornelius, where he ended up teaching to many. This act erased the notion that "God was only for the Jews." This, though being a good question, is actually pretty easy.

Ur thoughts?

Regarding the comment about homosexuality...
I Corithians 6:9-10

6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, practicing homosexuals, 6:10 thieves, the greedy, drunkards, the verbally abusive, and swindlers will not inherit the kingdom of God.

I think you misunderstand the point though. God is supposed to be divine he can not change his mind on subjects. For he always knows the right and wrong answer to a question. Hence every law that was supposedly god breathed should be the final word. But Christians choose not to follow those laws saying Jesus changed all that meaning Yahweh was not the real god. But they continue to insist the Ten Commandments are the basis of there religion and how they should act. And believe in the genesis and things like that. I think that is what most atheists don’t understand. Because they hear that god is all knowing. And at one point Abraham says to stone all the non believers and god floods the entire world. And then the next Jesus says to love one another and to not be judgmental. It just doesn’t add up they must be two different people. But Christians insist they are one in the same and ignore the teachings of the Old Testament. Now I am not as well taught about the bible as you are so I know I am very weak in arguing this. And most likely will come off as an idiot. But I find the question isn't what the bible says but who it was written by. And really does it make since that a divine god can change his mind like a human? It sort of insists that god’s role was always man made. You will notice that god gets nicer as time progresses and so does the social and moral code of those times and current ones. There is no proof of god’s existence and encounters with him seem to be brought on by wishing for one and then making something out of nothing. No one has ever heard his loud booming voice or ever saw any magic. Sorry this was so long.

Ok, so you're saying the laws were only valid during the time of the greeks/jews? I can accept that, but wouldn't that invalidate the argument now that homosexuality is a sin due to this scripture?

Also, Isn't lev 20:10 a tad imprecise as to what it condemns? I mean, IBy it I can't lie next to a man, but it doesn't actually mention sex, does it? (So logically, can I do it upright???)

Your answer may apply to some laws in leviticus, but many christians use the pick and choose method for everything else. The only reason I've concluded (maybe incorrectly) is that they pick and choose what they want based on their upbringing or their past experiences. Also, it's near impossible to follow everything in the bible since contradictions abound.

Christians don't pick which laws they want to follow. They follow two basic commandments. Matthew 22:37-40. Jesus said to him,"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind." This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it :" You shall love your neighbor as yourself." On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

How about that no divorce thing? Was that just for the Jews? It seems like Christians have no problem with it now.
