Is it the atheists who are simply not at all religious? Or is it the simple minded fundamentalist extremists? The atheists do very little to turn people away from God. They just don't believe. The intolerance and hatred of fundamenatlists can make all of us that believe in God look like homicidal lunatics. Who does more damage to our faith?

Does anyone here think that George Bush was appointed to president by god? If so, do you believe that each decision he makes is dictated by god? Is the war in Iraq part of your god's plan? Is discrimintation of gay people part of your god's will? Does your god oppose stem cell research as passionately as the president he may have installed into office?

What if we solved racism by teaching our children that if they are racist Nat Turner is going to get them?

What if we told them that if they didn't study hard they would fall behind and the langoliers would get them?

Is fear the proper motivation to achieve good?

I want to clarify to see if I can get a logical response:

Athiests, don't you think it's slightly irrational to denounce the existence of a higher power based solely on your human perception of the universe?

**Now, I don't want to hear "It's just as irrational to profess the existence of a higher power". I'm NOT saying there is a God, or you should believe. I would simply like to know how you could be SO sure that there isn't a God. It's kind of arrogant of you. Like you're just that in touch with all of existence.

I recently read a book by Don Miller that explained why people who follow Christ feel sorry for the things Christians have done to other people throughout history. I love Christ, and believe that many intolerant non-Christians have hostily rejected the idea of God simply because of the poor behavior exhibited by Christians.
Is this true? If so, what do you think Christians-- or, more applicably, imperfect people who have found grace-- should do about it?

Why are these things happening in Egypt in the 21 st century in the name of Islam? Where in the koran is this injustice taught? Why are Islamic fundamentalist hijacking and destroying Islam? Check out this blog to examples of children living in Egypt with no identity. http://www.bahai-egypt.blogspot.com/
I hope some moslems out there will respond to this question fully and sincerely. Write to the powers of Egypt and human right organisations to stop this injustice.

Does that mean that millions of sea creatures who live on the bottom of the ocean, even some miles under the surface which don't see the light of day were also present, how about the tiny microscopic ones other animals feast on, were they there? How about the millions of insects? Were lice there as well?

Did Adam have a microscope? Were some put in petri dishes by God so Adam could name them?

I just read this in Playboy magazine that there are fundamentalists who think anyone who is a proponent of Evolution is an enemy of God.

Anyone like that here in the yahoo answers universe?

Am, God's enemy, because I propose the human has a common ancestor with the chimpanzee?

People who see a demon being exorcised in the name of Jesus, believe firmly in their faith.

There are at least many cases like these, when people have overcome strange phenomenon based on their prayers or some other kind of spiritual oath.

Whats going on? How come God accepts their prayers if theyre all belonging to different faiths?

Jesus told me to love my neighbors. Some of my neighbors are atheists. Is there any real Christian justification for provoking arguments? I say no as I believe Jesus is the Prince of Peace.

A few years ago, I met some young men, brothers, who said that their mother had come to the USA from Ireland. The Church was so different here that she couldn't deal with it and she went with the Mormons. It may have been only a difference among local Churches. I don't know.

Okay, so I'm starting to accpet that evolution may be correct, may being the keyword. Everytime I ask a question I think is clever it just gets shot down like a school boy at prom. I.E. Evolve from a T-Rex, Tree frog one I just asked, emotions, ect. But couldn't the bible AND evolution be correct? I mean, there is nothing in the bible that says anything that we didn't evolve. Maybe God made us that way, to evolove. Just a thought?

Is it because of some wonderful argument one person made or is it your life experience? My guess is that most people choose their ideologies based on life experience. I look at some of the posts here by some other Christians and I am amazed. So many of them are uneducated fundamentalists that speak on topics they never learned about, such as science and other religions. If my first and only exposure to Christianity was this type of ignorance and intolerance I would be an atheist too. Do you atheistic folks also realize that they do not represent the majority of Christianity? I hope so.
