No.
The bible is based on mythology and folklore, not reality.
So, by all means believe what you like. BUT do NOT tell me that it's the "truth" without a single shred of credible evidence to back it up.
The science of Evolution has MOUNTAINS of evidence and proof to back it up. Creationism has... fables and myth.
See the difference?

There is no problem about Christians or any others believing in a god and accepting evolution, the vast vast majority already do. What is a problem is believing that the bible is literally accurate, it isn't and there is no reason for it to be so, any more than any of the other religious books mankind has come up with.
Most Christians throughout the world have no problem with treating the Bible as a decent book on morality reflecting the wishes and desires of their god without having to take it literally. Get over the need to take it literally and the world becomes a way more interesting place whether or not you believe in god.
I wil reiterate it again... Belief in god or even Christ is not the problem, taking a book which is at least 2,000 years old as the final word is the problem.

I don't think that the Bible can be reconciled with evolution. The entire Creation story just makes no sense from a biological standpoint; in fact, so many things in the Bible have been proven to be inaccurate that it is no longer relevant to our society.
I think that at the time the Bible was written, nothing was known about humankind or how we came to be here, how animals came to be here, nothing. The people who wrote the Bible did the best they could with the information they had, which consisted of little more than mythology. This was the Bronze Age. We can't look back at it now and say that maybe it was correct, because it so obviously is not. Even the story of Jesus was twisted to fit in with certain prophecies that the authors wanted to see fulfilled.
What we can do is appreciate the Bible as a work of historical fiction, not as a source of information regarding our world or the times in which we now live, and keep it in its place. We can't, in the year 2007, continue to attribute that which we don't yet understand to supernatural causes. It's intellectually irresponsible and lazy, and I just can't support that. To me, it doesn't matter what the Bible says. It is no more valid to me than "The Night Before Christmas", it's just a book, and if we could just keep things in perspective and look forward, we might discover that our origins, although not divine or supernatural, are amazing and awe-inspiring in their own right.

No both can't be right, and if you think they can you have not studied either the Bible or evolution enough to make an honest judgment. The Bible certainly does say much about evolution being wrong. Try this one for example: Hebrews 11:3 "By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible". Clearly God says that What you can see did not come from visible things, but from the Word of God. Evolution says that everything came from things that are natural and visible.

The Bible and Evolution can't be both correct. So if the Bible is correct then Evolution is incorrect and vice versa. Evolution says that all creation came from tiny bacteria that evolve into to man. Which is crazy. If we evolved from a bacteria then why aren't more people popping all over the place from bacteria or why are Apes evolving in to humans today? I can tell why...Because it is impossible. The Bible said God created Adam which means Humanity started with a Man instead a bacteria. Which is much more possible that a human evolving from a bacteria.

Anything is possible, I'm sure, but then how would some folks entertain themselves, lol? I'm just saying that people are often incapable of being content within their particular belief system or philosophy, and feel driven to antagonize others.
Don't know if you've ever heard this before, but as regards evolution, did you know that the gene that protects an African's skin from the sun is also responsible for sickle-cell anemia? Did you know that the reason people in the middle east have somewhat larger noses is to humidify the dry air?
Hey, I'm not making this stuff up; I saw or read it somewhere...maybe like the Discovery Channel.
So yes, the human species has "evolved" in different ways to cope with extreme environments.
Have you ever seen or read anything about animal adaptation? Like how monkeys or apes use sticks as tools?
Here's a freaky one for you. We do a lot of gardening, and realize that we have to fence-in and protect the plants from animal damage.
We had a nice, fresh crop of lettuce and other young plants, and watched out the window as a rabbit came up to the wire fence. He wanted to get in there real badly. We said to each other,"well...it's not like he can CLIMB in there..."
And then, to our amazement, we watched a rabbit climb a fence!!!
It gets better...
We shagged him out of there, and within a few hourse, watched him return and climb in AGAIN!
Is that adaptation? Evolution? What is it? You tell me.

Evolution IS a creation. Did you ever see one of those movies about Clearance Darrow and the monkey trial. At the end, Darrow takes a copy of, "Origin of Species," and a copy of the bible, puts them together and places them both in his brief case. What is the symbol there?
At any rate, we have evolved a mind complex enough to ask these questions. Your mind is as complex as any. Go by what you find in you mind, heart and soul. Unless you become those monkeys that hear, see and speak no evil, you will always hear all arguments. Some of them maturely others insecurely and ment to bash. But you keep looking inside yourself. You're the only one that can do that.

Personally, I don't believe in the bible but that is just my opinion. Yes they both could be correct. There is nothing in science that says there is no creator though some people make that mental leap. At most all it says is that there might be a reasonable explanation that does not require a creator.
Look into "Theistic Evolution" for more info.

I do think that evolution is a real thing. But I also think that some kind of force had to set the universe in motion. Things remain at inertia unless acted upon by an outside force. However, I think it would be presumptuous to say we can know anything about the nature of that force or to label that force as "God" or anything of the like.

You will need to Understand also that Evolution of the species, is what the basic evolutionist's doesn't undertand they will need to separate from the Evolution of the Matter, that the already achieved Evolution of the Living and pure Cosmic energy, will pursue and have got to achieved, zillions?, of light years ago, before time and space. Because a good and positive Cause, for the Cosmos, let us say; affected the matter, in a way where Matter will need to stop persue of Chnages for mutation and achieved the first evolutionary step. The problem in this for the human brain and the mentality of to day day's, so call Intelligent beings, is that it hasn't achieve the necessary evolution Yet, to understand, that the preassure that matter's will need to suport from the Cosmologies, and Cosmic energies, was not directed by HIM(God), against the Matter's and Substances of Matter'. But by negative energies, and attract also by Evil Energies that matter's, will be force to Emanate, due heating preassures!perhaps because of the same Cause, God will deam, seam and decide positive for the Living energies to learn, experience and elevate to the Cosmos the Physical and not just the Material. as Well, that, and because of this, I can't make God responsible for the "BIg BanG", because HIM(God), doesn't absorved Energies nor matter's, but HIM(God), in his beginning will assimilate knowledge through HIM(God), senses, although HIM didin't begin the Big Bang, nor will HIM be the main benefactor of such effects to happen HIM(God), was involved into acelerating the process to end such senless evil creatived tendency?. Isn't easy, and don't expect to get any easier, just Remeber HIM(God) love you, in the name of his Son. and he will bless you, because of the same. Amen.
