If god put Bush in office then it has one sick sense of humor.
It's knowing that I don't subscribe to that nonsense that lets me sleep soundly at night.

So many questions!
1) and 2) Yes, the Bible says this at Romans 13:1, "Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God."
3) No. I believe that Christians sometimes disregard God's will and make decisions without His guideance.
4) Yes. Read Ezekiel 38 and 39, which tells about an invasion of Israel by Russia (Magog) and Iran (Persia), along with other Muslim nations, in the "latter days" (end times). Iraq is NOT on the list of invaders. For reasons only known to God at this time, He wished Iraq be restrained.
5) Discrimination against the people, no. We are commanded to love everyone. However, we are also commanded to condemn the sin. And, for the record, gay sex is just as sinful as premarital or extramarital heterosexual sex. Or any other sin, for that matter. God doesn't have a "point system" for sin -- they're ALL horrible to Him.
6) If you're referring to FETAL stem cell research, the Bible makes it perfectly clear that God opposes the taking of an innocent human life. So the answer in this instance would be YES. If you're talking about non-fetal stem cell research, I don't believe there's any Biblical prohibition against it.

god hasn't appointed anyone or anything to take the place of an individual's free will.
government is a social necessity to provide equality and physical security amongst it's people.
providing security doesn't mean attacking, it means protecting.
there is clear difference between protection one's society and attacking another society.
harmony is the peaceful existence between people that have differing viewpoints on how to express their free will. some governments oppress an individuals expression and others encourage it.
The error with OUR government is that it is the most visible example of a righteous nation which encourages the exercise of free will with consideration for the whole of it's society, attacking another nation whose standards are not as free as ours.
It's the notion that women who cover their bodies because of modesty are somehow oppressed. It is the notion that a society is not fit to follow it's own rules, whether or not they are in line with our rules.
the same reason why people in America love their nation is the same reason that people of other nations love their nation. If a society is happy and peaceful then who or what makes our Way any better or worse than theirs?
Violence begets violence as all people are entitled to their expression of free will in consideration of the good of the society.
Man's laws are created to manage Man's behavior towards himself. there will always be conflict and if one society crushes another ability to express their free will and manage it's own, then we are crushing ourselves.
You can't spread liberty with oppression and you cannot make peace with war. It is both illogical and offends the sensibilities of the simplest mind. (as in, common sense tells you two wrongs don't make a right and no good can ever spring from an evil act unless we learn that the evil act is indeed evil and seek to rectify the mistake.)

All authority, no matter how wicked, is appointed by God. What men do with that authority is either honorable or sinful. We cannot understand all the ways of God, why he does certain things. what we do know is that whatever God does he does for our eventual good. We may not see that good in our lifetime, but the good is their. Rome was not built in a day and neither was it destroyed in a day, but its building and its tearing down were of a benefit to our modern civilization. the same can be said for the Greeks, the Egyptians, the Persians and the British. Butchers like Stalin, Hitler, Amin and Saddam have served their purpose in God's plan. It is not up to use to question the Almighty and his work, but to have faith in him as our Father.

God puts men in authority. He does not control that man so the man can choose to go against God, just like Bill did. Bush makes decisions based on what he thinks is right and it is easy for us to second-guess him.

Theoretically, God appoints all world leaders, it is woven into their destiny. This includes Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Caesar, etc.
Just because God puts you in charge of a country doesn't mean he expects you to succeed, does it? It is wholesomely possible that you are expected to fail, and be a horrible human being. How else will humanity learn expcept by mistakes?
