I just read this in Playboy magazine that there are fundamentalists who think anyone who is a proponent of Evolution is an enemy of God.

Anyone like that here in the yahoo answers universe?

Am, God's enemy, because I propose the human has a common ancestor with the chimpanzee?

Not hardly. The people who believe like that must have a very small God... he seems to feel threatened by a lot of things. He calls, at the very least, half of his own creation his enemy. I don't quite grasp the concept of a Father-like God hating what he created. I'm sure these same people would think that a parent(s) who has a child, raise it to be meaner than the devil himself and then hate the child for acting exactly as his parents created him to act. Setting up rules the child can not follow in order to make the parent look good. Beating the child when he can't follow the rules that can't be followed. And then threatening the child with a fiery eternity if he doesn't Love the parent. Can you imagine a parent beating their child because they believe something that has been shown to be true? I wonder how many of these Fundies do just that when their child comes home with Science homework?

I am a proponent of evolution, but I am not an enemy of god. I don't even believe in a god. So that would be as pointless as saying that I am an enemy of the Frank the rabbit from Donnie Darko (although, that dude is freaky).

But yes, I agree that people like to categorize others based on one part of their ideology.

Some people even think I am a pervert because I, too, subscribe to Playboy. They can't fathom that there is anything worth reading in there ... but there is.

Base in the more popular philosophy, that for some time now, I have ear, see and percerived?, going on back and forth, in U.S., which I don't know whom is the beneficiary?, ("The mind is a Terrible thing to waste") I will say Mr. D?, that you have begun to exercise part of you freedom?, that I my self I don't call free will?, though I believed for man, and especially for Human kind, such freedom can never be exercise 100%, and stay positive, in other words 100% freedom isn't good. regarding you inquired?, because question are just more simple than that when you know what you are asking?, in this case apparently you have made a decision and you which a last answer from some one, and knowing you intent's or agenda? you maybe looking for a Judge, or someone to Judge your understanding? belief's? or proposition?. Notice that I will steal have many questions about you?, But to me there isn't reason for my self to accept your demands, and of course if you have decide that by becoming a Monkey you have become an Enemy of God, my advocacy for the Good lord have indicate, that you can actually made such decision, and there is not hard filling and it will never be such a tendency many try and have try to impute into HIM(God), the Lord, of taking such bogus challenges?, because first of all you don't believed he can actualy be more smarted than you?, and if you can hold on to this, what about More Intelligence than you and my self togehter?, although mr, D?, think about this is Satan also a Monkey, which by some smart reason, he could have never been able to use,? or the Demons the beast, Hitler perhaps, Atila, the Pope, His exelencency the Dali lama, also part of the Monkey Species?, after Evolution of Course. perhaps Socrates, descartes, Blaise Pascal, Nostradamus, I don't know Sir., But they have a lot knowledge in which we can answer all our douts, or al less acelerate our own Evolution, for the better of Humanity. Why keep questioning and keep confucing the YOung and Incoming generation more and more, whent the onlyu thing good they can savely pursue if the fantasy to believed that they are beutiful for some one and that some one loves then and will always love then as long as they love HIM Back, and they care their body, not like Monkey's, but like the Temple once in Fantasy was by the Jew's and Roman Crtucified. my best regards to your Mother and Father, MY are find not in a physical body but, they have never feel like chimps, and I was never treated like one. No!

It is one of the huge fallacies that has led to this division between some Christians and evolution. It is a false conflict.

Some religious leaders have made it a part of their tactics to paint evolution as an enemy of God. To pound into people the idea "evolution=atheism". Why? Because it falsely galvinizes the faithful to oppose evolution with every fiber of their being.

The logic is this: "God is a given. So if I paint evolution as opposed to God, then I have just disproved evolution."

Once a person has accepted this terrible position that evolution=atheism, then they no longer evaluate evidence or logic on its own merits. It doesn't matter what evidence a scientist brings up in favor of evolution ... it MUST be bad evidence. And it doesn't matter what logic is used to support evolution ... it MUST be bad logic.

You can tell when somebody is under the spell of this kind of reasoning. Rather than say "the evidence in support of evolution is faulty", these people say "there is NO EVIDENCE AT ALL." The logic: if it supports evolution at all, it must be bad evidence, therefore there is no good evidence AT ALL." Or rather than say "here are my objections to the logic of natural selection", they say "natural selection MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL" and refuse to say what exactly doesn't make sense. The logic: if it supports evolution, it must be nonsense, therefore all arguments in favor of evolution are by definition, nonsense.

And that is how we get to this impasse about evolution. It is not the fault of the theory of evolution ... the theory of evolution includes no statement one way or the other about the existence of God ... any more than the theory of gravity or the germ theory of disease has any statement one way or the other about God. This is a line drawn by people who have rejected evolution so out-of-hand, that even *considering* the evidence or the logic, is to consider atheism.

NO it doesnt mean ur the enemy of God?
I have studied recently and the religions of GOd including Jewish religion and Catholics say that they allow Evolution to fit into GOd's story so at one point or another GOd evolved the animal into a human.
You are the enemy of God if u read "Playboy" though

it relatively is through the fact adult men fell out with God and became complete of themselves,so as that self is often on a project to create an empire for it self, subsequently, the presence of the different person is seen as an aggression, and felt as a huge gamble.for this reason the Bible says we ought to consistently crucify self, via so doing we do away with the area of hostility that's selfishness.in line with verse 18 we restrain ourselves,no count number the aggression through fact the little ones of God for he's merciful and provides rain to all the two the stable and the undesirable. peace be with you all.

No, The Bible says God created all living creatures but dosen't say HOW he did it......As the supreme being He can use a process of evolution if He chooses.
People that ASSUME the two concepts are incompatible are mistaken.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but since you don't believe in God that would make you an enemy of a non existent being.
