..if you were suddenly dropped into the time of Jesus Christ, knowing all the things you know today to be true?
Would you reject leeches, and tell people to wash to get rid of disease & germs?
Would you claim the earth is round?
Would you tell everyone that the sun does not go around the earth?
Would you give up the knowledge that man would one day fly, or that images would be captured and printed on paper, or that there would be faster ways to travel the land than on the backs of donkeys and camels?
You realize these "theories" would be considered heresy, and you'd probably be crucified.
It seems that for many Christians, old scientific theories that would have been heresy in Christ's day are now acceptable facts, but when it comes to NEW scientific theories like evolution, the Big Bang, etc, they are once again seen as heresy, even though it's likely that they too will eventually be as readily accepted as flight, and germ theory, and the roundness of the planet.
Why is this?
