Apparently evil is inherent in the human condition. It took
Christianity to give evil a persona by mistating Hebrew
word, shaitan (he accused), as Satan and then draw
verbal descriptions and pictures of a creature to hold
before the ignorance of trembling peasants, thus keeping
them afraid and disciplined. That, to some of the
peasants, this Satan should appear a powerful creature to
be worshiped is a natural progression. The explanation
that this Christian offshoot has expanded is in the nature
of humans. Humans constantly try to expand the
population base of their personal belief--you and I are
doing that now. They do this by many means, the
apparently strengthening their belief into fanaticism is a
truism in the process. Some, though, may seek only to
gather power to themselves by manipulating others. This
process goes on in all aspects of human interaction. Thus
this purely Christian creature, Satan, has come to be
worshiped by mostly dissatisfied Christians because
Christians have created a creature that plays to
Humankind's weakness' and ego concurrently.

The reason for this question is that on this forum, the more bombastic elements are continually characterizing people of other belief systems as unhappy, neurotic, or fearful. This seems to be stereotyping, making it then justifiable to try to belittle them. So this question is a simple one, with no hidden meanings, addressed to people of all faiths as well as those who deny faith. Only please, take a moment for self-reflection before answering, and be honest. I'll go first. Yes, I am.

In your opinion, what makes someone a religious person? In what way must they behave or believe that would make you think they are religious? If you yourself a religious person, what is it about yourself that makes you consider yourself as such?

Feel free to state your religious affiliation if you so choose.

If in the last election, Bush was pro-abortion and Kerry was Pro-life, who would you have voted for?
And, has Bush done anything to support his platform of Pro-life in the past 6 years?
(If you say no, please don't blame his lack of action on the democrats, republicans had senate and house control for the majority of that time)

There's a lot of bashing going on, but I'm just interested in finding out why people (specifically non-Christians) like to tell us how to be what they perceive to be better Christians.
I've never heard a Christian telling an Atheist how to be a better Atheist, a Muslim how to be a better Muslim, or any other belief.
I also believe that you should believe whatever you want - God isn't going to force you to believe in Him and I wouldn't if I could.
But, I also believe there are consequences for that decision.

in my previous questions i posted these 2 bible verses:

genesis 15 And I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring [a] and hers;
he will crush [b] your head,
and you will strike his heel."

in tha garden of gethsemenee jesus crushed tha head of a serpent/snake

“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel. He will eat curds and honey at the time He knows enough to refuse evil and choose good. For before the boy will know enough to refuse evil and choose good, the land whose two kings you dread will be forsaken” (Isaiah 7:14-16).

tha virgin part has nothing to do with tha messiah, yer right. but i does refer to tha messiah's mother.

I prophesied to a woman that she would have a baby and to not be sad because she lost a baby and it never happened. But I have done so before when I felt prompted and I have seen things come to pass for other people I've prophesied to. (weird I know).

God Himself?

Or is that just something you were told by a church or your parents, supplemented by an ancient book, while attributing all unknowns unto him?
