creationists make up excuses like the appendix works somewhat or tonsils work for this and that, while failing to see these systems are so vague and poor that a designer wouldn't have used it. Why make the appendix and not another system that functions at an optimal level instead of a piss poor one? Now that's when they get dumb strucked and start saying "WELL GOD CHOSE IT LIKE THAT."

Those are not "useless" body parts. Just because you can live without something doesn't mean you don't need it. The appendix is a part of the immune system - it is where immune responses are initiated. If you have your appendix removed, you will be more susceptible to diseases. Your little toe is still a part of your ability to walk straight - you could live without it, but you'd have a little less lateral balance. You'd have to shift your weight toward the other toes to make up for it. You could also live without both your eyes, ears, arms and legs, but that doesn't mean that you don't need them. Just because you don't know the function of something doesn't mean it doesn't have a function.

tonsils are part of the immune system.

So is the appendix. It is more active very early in life, which is why doctors for so many years considered it useless.

The little toe is important for balance. I knew someone whose little toe was malformed, so he had it removed. It caused him balance problems for the rest of his life.

And the "yolk sac" is really a blood-forming sac--when the marrow begins to form blood cells, the blood-forming sac goes away.

Why do parents create children that look like them? Why do you think God is addressed as our Father?
