Yes, Buddha was born Gautama Siddharta in a royal Hindu family. Though Buddhism is a teaching in it's own right, it is undoubtedly influenced by Hinduism (i.e. teachings of the soul, reincarnation, nirvana (or nibbhana for Bhuddists), and Dharma). Buddha helped rejuvenate these ideas, and therefore is regarded by some Hindus as an incarnation of Vishnu.

Yes, the Buddha was born a Hindu, in the Kshatriya caste. But he became disillusioned with the way society was around him, particularly the caste system.

If my memory serves me right, he was born a high caste hindu but was disillusioned by the discrepancy he saw between his standard of living and the way the lower classes lived and set out to find enlightenment, the rest, as they say, is history.

yes buddha was but buddhism and hinduism is very similar almost identical. hinduism also teaches meditationa and regard buddha as a avatar of god

it dosent make any difference .what is important is to imbibe his teachings. buddha him self has given answer to such question during his life time.kindly refer teaching texts
