The reason for this question is that on this forum, the more bombastic elements are continually characterizing people of other belief systems as unhappy, neurotic, or fearful. This seems to be stereotyping, making it then justifiable to try to belittle them. So this question is a simple one, with no hidden meanings, addressed to people of all faiths as well as those who deny faith. Only please, take a moment for self-reflection before answering, and be honest. I'll go first. Yes, I am.

I am happy knowing Jesus Christ, but there are many times I am not happy living in this world.
However knowing Christ gets me through this life, and that is what matters most. I am completely HAPPY in Him! His joy is true JOY--and inexpressible.

Psalm 19:8
The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

No life is without its challenges and low moments, so I certainly can't claim to be happy all of the time. I get frustrated by life, just like everyone else, and I disappoint myself sometimes by not finding the time and strength of will to do all the things I should, or would like to. But in general I'm a positive person. I believe I'm a good person who tries to live a moral, useful, and fulfilling life. I'm not rich, but I volunteer my time to help out with worthy causes. Most of the time I remember to treat others courteously, as I would like them to treat me. Sometimes I get mad and say things that I shouldn't, but I'm pretty good about apologizing and trying to make amends. I'm happy with who I am, and I'm in pretty good health. I have a wife who loves me and grandchildren who are still young enough to think I'm a pretty kewl granddad. I'd have to say, yes, I'm a happy Humanist.

Yes, I am a very happy person.
With all the abundances of blessing that God gives me each day, I am very happy and thankful.
I never ask for my 'wants', only my needs.
I have a wonderful husband, 2 grown kids, 2 grandkids, good warm home, loving church, food, friends and the best of all, Jesus! He is my best friends and comes before anything or anyone.... BTW: I am happy that you are happy....

Most of the time. Sometimes I'm unhappy. But only when I see others doing harm in the name of religion.

You phrased your question very well. Congratulations on being articulate. I do get rather tired of all the ones that can't even SPELL happy, let alone ask a question about it. Now, to answer you...happy? nah....resigned to make the best of the status quo - yeah.

I am relaxed and content at this moment in my life. Call it a silent happiness if you want. I'm not running about and grinning madly at everyone.

I am happy because my building is not on fire. It is made of metal and never will be on fire.

This nutty lady keeps trying to tell me how to get out though. Odd.

Very happy indeed. And for your information, I don't deny faith. I know it exists. I just choose not to have it.
