Veda prohibits the idol worship but most of the people goes against it coz they dont want to explore the truth and they follow their ancestors path. Comeon guys come out of your ego and explore the truth coz everybody are blind about their own religion and keep peeping into others religion. Think universally and try to read truth not stories which are just human imagination nothing else. A human knowledge is finite and The Creator's (God) knowledge is infinite you cant shape him into a Idol.

********* 1 cor. 2:2 (niv) 2For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified." **********

I often run into folk here asking questions that they already know the answer to. But these people don't just ask to enlighten others, or to just share the gospels, but to "Show-off" there knowledge. This scripture comes to mind(see above). Knowledge is good, but we should be humble with it.
Teaching others is great but I have seen some " Look what I know and you don't" attitudes that don't really allow for a positive experiance here. Why is this?
We should be able to teach others about the LORD ((as our focus)) and not teach others that we are better than everyone else because we know more!! All glory to GOD....NONE for us.

Your thoughts??

For GOD'S SAKE! The motto of our nation is "In God we trust."

Since they don't trust God, they should leave this country. Now.

“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel. He will eat curds and honey at the time He knows enough to refuse evil and choose good. For before the boy will know enough to refuse evil and choose good, the land whose two kings you dread will be forsaken” (Isaiah 7:14-16).

as many of you know here
I am a spiritualist
I believe in a deity , and I call that deity simply God for arguements sake
because the God i believe in has no identity , and I dont try to seek it because I believe I will never find it
I dont feel the need to put a face to the name so to speak
but in R&S i feel very strange answering questions directed to God believers only to find it is a certain God they mean ( the biblical )
does anyone else feel troubled with not having a persona to represent their God ?
is it important to ?
is it more important to acknowledge and accept that we will never know ?
thoughts , ideas , discuss please
( atheists & theists opinions also appreciated )
thank you

I know this woman whom I like and we share many of the same values, except I am not a Catholic. I consider myself to be spiritually independent believing in a higher power, sense of morality, etc. In any case, long story short, because we do not share the same religious belief she is closed to any romantic possibilities.

I'm curious as to what other Catholics think about this and if this would be an obstacle for them if they knew a non Catholic they had feelings for.

Writings indicate that every generation since circa the year 30 CE has expected Jesus' imminent return. Here are some examples:

I know evolution is a big topic, but I thought the main thing was the theory that we evolved from apes...

I'm confused now.

I appreciate your honest answers, but don't appreciate answers sugesting that i think i am above anybody. I am a Christian, but I think I'm a pretty good one. I love all of you who say nasty things, I try not to judge, especially for a reason such as believing something different then myself. I have never told anyone they are going to hell or they are evil. I kinda do think those who don't except Christ are lost, just the same way people who do not believe think I am silly cause I do. What I was trying to get at w/ the previous question was I cannot see a -real- Christian calling someone evil! I just don't get that. I want to know why a christian would say that? I understand an atheist not having the Light of Christ, but we ALL make our own decision on that subject. Anyway, no hard feeling I hope. And by the way Jack, Sorry I'm engaged, and yes it is serious.
Christians - Why do you judge when we are clearly told not too?
Atheists - "Hypithetically" speaking, what do you think your

"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it."

"A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties and needs; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death."

Do you think we should have to learn about the Evolution in skool. I don't beleive we come from a monkey or whatever it is but our teachers in my city are trying to make it to where we can't give our opinions on it and that is really rude because that tells me that teachers are trying to put things in our heads that we don't agree with and that we'll have to deal with it. and if you haven't figured out already I'm a christian so that makes me angry that I can't tell what I believe because that would be wrong for people because not everyone believes in that but we should believe we come from a MONKEY!!!!! That'z soooooooo wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
