I appreciate your honest answers, but don't appreciate answers sugesting that i think i am above anybody. I am a Christian, but I think I'm a pretty good one. I love all of you who say nasty things, I try not to judge, especially for a reason such as believing something different then myself. I have never told anyone they are going to hell or they are evil. I kinda do think those who don't except Christ are lost, just the same way people who do not believe think I am silly cause I do. What I was trying to get at w/ the previous question was I cannot see a -real- Christian calling someone evil! I just don't get that. I want to know why a christian would say that? I understand an atheist not having the Light of Christ, but we ALL make our own decision on that subject. Anyway, no hard feeling I hope. And by the way Jack, Sorry I'm engaged, and yes it is serious.

what do you think your reaction would be if you die and find yourself standing before God? I have never seen this question before.

Judging is something you can't really prevent yourself from doing. You make judgments about other people all the time, whether you admit it or not. The question is not whether you judge someone, but what you judge them on. I try not to judge people unwisely.

I can see Christians calling others evil. The Christian tenets are that everybody is evil at heart and only through repenting and accepting Jesus can they be forgiven for their evil, which includes their "original sin". It is part of the tactics used by religion to promote itself. It is part of how it accentuates in-group bonding and out-group separation.

And atheists are not atheists by decision. You don't make a decision to not be convinced by something. Being convinced or not being convinced is a rather automatic function.

If I found myself standing before a god, my reaction would depend on the god I'm standing in front of and what's its disposition is.

I am an agnostic, not being so arrogant as to claim certain knowledge that God exists or does not exist. All the facts are not in... As you read this, please keep in mind: If you read my other answers (via my profile), you will know that I do not attempt to maliciously attack people or their beliefs, only to present a logical argument for or against them. Nothing in this answer is an attack against you or anyone. It is, as you asked, a sincere and honest opinion. Hopefully, one that will make (or help) people think.

However, hypothetically...

If I did "wake up" after death and find myself standing in front of God, I think my reaction would be, "Wow, they were right!" (assuming, of course, we're talking about the Christian God). If I found myself standing in front of Zeus, I think I'd be even more amazed.

My reaction would not be one of fear, however. If God does exist, and He is a good, loving God, I would not fear being "cast into the lake of fire" or the eternal "weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth." No loving God would do that to someone just because they did not understand or believe in Him during the frail and fallible life He granted them upon the Earth. No loving God would condemn a good, loving, caring human being to an eternity of torment just because they didn't say the right words, or read the right book, or attend the right assembly of believers.

If the God I find myself standing before is the Christian God, however, that would be frightening, because despite claims to the contrary, the Christian God is not one of mercy and goodness.

This is the God who could have created a better system of life than one whose survival is dependent upon the destruction of others, such as lions tearing their living prey apart with their teeth. I'm not omnipotent, but I know I could have found a kinder, better way for life to survive.

This is the God who stands idly by while innocent babies suffer undescribable pain from disease or abuse, even though by definition He has the power to stop it from happening.

Yes, that vision of God scares me.

Clearly you are from a considerably more liberal version of Christianity than many here. I suggest you ask some questions such as "Is Wicca/Islam/Buddhism evil?" Then get a good look at the responses from the Christians on this site.

As for what I would say if I met God at the end of life?

"If you're real, why did you do everything you could to keep yourself so thoroughly hidden that no one could determine your existence? Why did you let lunatics, facists, and megalomaniacs speak for you and make you look like a monster? Why did you allow your Bible to portray you as a patty, dictatorial, egomaniacal mass-murderer?"

Because I had a change of heart almost 13 yrs ago if I were to die right now I could stand before God and be accountable for my decsions, the things I did before my "awakening" and the things I have done in an attempt to live a better life, be a better person, and be more of service to my fellow man . God has yet to leave me hanging in confusion, leave me in a position of being injured, or not provide me with a solution to ANY dilemna.

As for those lower-mentality souls ( pardon my judgement but I was taught to make judgements to see hat kind of people need help, more than others-- well people don't need help, sick people do ) I just pray for them nd the rest is between them and God. As for the atheists, well, they had better hope that they are right.

I'm not athiest, more agnostic, but to your question regarding what I would do IF there was a god- Nothing, generally speaking this is a question I find myself asking, but there is nothing I would go back on in my life or apologize for. I'm a good person, there's nothing that I've done against the general morals of society (ie. killing, raping, pillaging). IF there was such a being, I guess then whatever happens happens.

There are thousands of miracles that are attributed to Christianity. and that i do no longer propose little "miracles" like the curing of illnesses, yet considerable historic events that may not be in a position to be defined via organic reasons. additionally the actuality that the regularly occurring public the unique Apostles of Christ died from martyrdom (via fact they does no longer deny Christ) is a demonstration that they've been definitely confident that the Resurrection handed off. yet another sign is how in the present day Christianity unfold even with there being a heavy persecution amazing after its start. and that i could flow on. Now human beings could attempt to offer different non-supernatural motives for those quite some "motives to have self belief", yet that doesn't negate the info for Christianity as such. to declare that concept in Christianity is irrational is to be unaware of background and its implications.

I too am a Christian and I do not believe I am above anyone..
The way I live is simple and without judgement on anyone. It is not my job to judge people, its Gods job...

I do the best I can each day and live by the Ten Commandments.
A 'true' Christian will not call others evil. You can see a true Christian by their actions and talk...

I have seen similar questions by the number ... anyway, if I'd happen to survive my death one or the other way, I'd start asking questions for real and challenge the right of any deity to deprive me of my well-earned death. But let me add that I consider this question about as speculative and nonsensical as "what would you do if you find out that you are only a character in a book" or something like that. Or if I would ask a Christian, what would you do if you die and arrive in Hades as a shadow.

Judge not Least Ye be Judged.

I will think nothing of it. If as you say when I die I meet god I will accept the fact. What I can not accept is blind faith. Atheists are no better or worse than the rest of religious humanity. Listen t yourself. What kind of god is this that will condemn the rest of humanity and that means the majority, including untold millions of kids to eternal damnation simply because we do not believe in him. That kind of attitude does not make him any better than a mass murderer of unprecedented stature.
