Nobody really knows. All the cath-lickers can do is use guess work. You see, they change biblical scriptures and re-write history, they can also change facts on the pope-pee.

+ Longest Serving +

Some say the papacy began in 30 A.D. upon the declaration by Jesus Christ that Simon Bar-Jona would be called Peter (rock) upon which the Catholic Church was to be built. He went on to serve for 37 years.

Some say Peter became pope in 32 AD and was pope for 35 years.

Documentation of such things were not considered important at the time. Either way Peter served longest.

Second longest is Pope Pius IX was pope for 31 years, 7 months and 23 days (11,560 days) from 1846-1878

Pope John Paul II is third longest with 26 years, 5 months and 18 days (9,666 days) from 1978 to 2005.

+ Youngest +

The birth dates and even years of early Popes are frequently not available. In modern times, Popes have generally been elected at older ages. Today a man of 65 years is generally considered too young to be Pope.

The youngest Pope was probably either
+ Pope Benedict IX who became Pope at an unknown age between 11 and 20
+ Pope John XII who was 18 at the beginning of his papacy
