Word History: An oath is to be found at the etymological heart of exorcise, a term going back to the Greek word exorkizein, meaning "to swear in," "to take an oath by," "to conjure," and "to exorcise." Exorkizein in turn is formed from the prefix ex-, "thoroughly," and the verb horkizein, "to make one swear, administer and derived from horkos, "oath." Our word exorcise is first recorded in English in a work composed possibly before the beginning of the 15th century, and in this use exorcise means "to call up or conjure spirits" rather than "to drive out spirits," a sense first recorded in 1546. [Middle English exorcisen, from Late Latin exorcizre, from Greek exorkizein : ex-, out of; see exo- + horkizein, to make one swear (from horkos, oath)
It is clear that the (RC) Roman Catholic Church have adapted the word in Latin and gave it a new definition instead to 'swear in' it now use to 'drive out', or at least to 'conjure' by praying for a Holy Being to drive out the demons that invaded a (un)willing soul.
Christ, didn't have use an exorcise when he drove the demons out, because He is higher than the Angels (The Angels does God's will, for the love they have for Him)
You'll notice in the Bible,, Christ says very little to the demons. In fact they (demons) fear him. When a priest drives the demons out it can take hours or even days to rid the demon(s)
Another word is use, 'Deliverance' which is basically a Protestant terminology of Exorcise, accept according to the RC their formation is not base on 'power of suggested' at least not for the past 20 years.
Power of suggested, mean when a person thinks that their soul or body have been invaded by an unclean spirit and the person behave radically or demonically, and preform unphysical body behaviors.
God Bless
