I think you will find it was only 2,000 years ago. But why confuse you with details, right?

not quite 4000 years. It was about 2008 (our year is based on that fairy tale...our year is really 2007 AD) and add a year for planning and creating the story. But the point is the same.
They made up Jesus to battle other ancient religions and their beliefs. Creating a superstar like Jesus was a sure shot to get followers and to build a massive region. People were hungry for answers and their small brains and lack of education ate that crap up. Now Hell and Sins were made up to scare people into believing what they were preaching was correct. Also, it was thought up as a tool to control people.

EXCUSE ME!! Did you just say the Story like JESUS and HELL. Uh JESUS is Real, his life is not a story. If you want a story the library is a great place to find one. JESUS's life was documented so that we can know about his power and glory so that someday we can be with him in a perfect world without sin.

Our Lord lived about 2000 years ago. HE fulfilled the prophesies throughout all of the Old Testament about the Messiah. HE was confirmed by many because of the miracles that HE performed. HE was brutally murdered on the Roman Cross at Calvary and arose from the grave. HE travelled around and was seen by a number of people during that time. HIS final act on earth was HIS ascension into heaven that was witnessed by a great many people.

Study these scriptures and see what you think. To become a Christian:
1. HEAR - Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
2. BELIEVE - In Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”
3. REPENT - Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
4. CONFESS CHRIST - 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
5. BE BAPTIZED - Romans 6:3-4 do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
6. CONTINUE TO BE FAITHFUL - Jesus said in Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”

People have been worshipping various things since the beginning. I think the concept of Hell rose later, for the error of the "immortal soul" didn't really gain a lot of traction until the greeks. The Egyptians seemed to follow that same line, but I'm not so clear about their details. Man didn't have to be around long before he knew He needed a Savior, and Almighty YHVH was kind enough to not only provide one, but also to explain it ahead of time so man would not have to be lost.

Those who proclaim the Bible to be the only "True word of God" are not being honest with themselves.

No one, not even an atheist like myself, knows if there is a "creator".

The Bible has proven to be largely a work of fiction. If it is the word of God, it's F***ed up. Errors, contradictions, plagiarism, failed prophesies. It is the work of men.
