I mean those who believe in God, particularly the big 3 religions are merely following the tenents of their faith. Atheists have faith that God does not exist so they have no such tenent compelling them.

So I guess the more compelling questions for athesits is:
Why bother living? Why bother doing the "right" thing? Why not live in anarchy? Why bother being a good person? Why do anything if this is all there is?

I met a beautiful lady who I spent some valuable time with. She has a burden that she carries from her childhood into the present that her family members are trapped in Fundamentalist Christianity. She had a death in the family and went home to attend the funeral. Since she has been back she is a totally different person. She has rebuked my friendship, lied to herself and her mother saying that she is considering gettimg back into the church. She has (by her own admission) no intention to join the "cult" (her description of her families religious beliefs). She has told me that the one thing she hates most in people is not being truthful. She chooses to tell her mother that she is "going back to the religion" to avoid the confrontation. I choose that it is in my best interest to move on with my life and not live a lie as her friend. She has told me that she has remained with me to "figure me out." I am not a guinea pig and will not be the subject of her study. Am I right?

Our dog barks at nothing. I hear footsteps. Yesterday, both kitchen windows opened 4 inches simutaneously and cold air came rushing in. Garage door has opened on its own. This morning my shed doors were standing open. Hmmmm. What do you think?

Allah claims he authored the book and it can't be changed.

114. Say: "Shall I seek for judge other than Allah. - when He it is Who hath sent unto you the Book, explained in detail." They know full well, to whom We have given the Book, that it hath been sent down from thy Lord in truth. Never be then of those who doubt.

115. The word of thy Lord doth find its fulfilment in truth and in justice: None can change His words: for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all.

Please pay attention to how this question is being asked, and if you're going to tell me the question is not valid take your "answer" somewhere else.

This question is not directed exclusively to athieists (though I'm sure they will be the first to pounce on it with their 100% logical reasoning).

*If you can tell me there is scientific evidence for the non-existence of something, and you've studied scientific research methods, then tell me what methodology cancels the null hypothesis claiming God exists? Tell me what descriptive or inferential statistics support the non-existence of God? Don't assume God necessarily must be directly observable (even though this is a prerequisite for what scientists want to call "fact").

Please, no more answers like, "If there's no evidence then there's no reason for me to believe..." I'm very tired of that one.

Please do not say god or the Bible. I have done and will do a lot of things that are considered a sin. The problem is that to me they are not sin because I do not see anything morally wrong with it. It does not hurt me or any involved so there is no issue there.

These words about the commandments are in Deut 4:2 ; You must not add anything to the charge I decree or take anything away from it; you must carry out the commandments of the Lord our God which I lay upon it.

Now some say the church founded by Jesus are allowed to change the 10 commandments. Christianity appears to be a religion of paradoxes and contradictions.

I don't need anyone explaining that it's just a bridge...I already know that argument.....I also don't need anyone using this as a forum to condemn Islamic barbarism....I already know all about it.

I'm an agnostic Jew, and I don't get it. I have seen a bunch of Islamic militants complaining about an attack on a temple, but I've not heard exactly what it is that they're doing that is so awful. All I've seen anyone concretely say is that a bridge is being built. I'd dismiss this as more Islamic extremist stupidity, but the King of Jordan, who is a rational and intelligent man, is also condemning it. What...and I mean what EXACTLY....is Israel doing that is destroying the Temple?
