There is a verse in the Quran [9:30] that says that Jews thought Uzair was the son of god, and Christians thought that Jesus was the son of god. The verse says that this is not true and it says that god will FIGHT Christians and Jews because they say that.

Some people think that the word FIGHT means curse from god, some other radicals think that it is an order for Muslims to FIGHT Christians and Jews because they THINK that way.

In both cases, is it justified to fight (or curse) someone simply because he does not believe in what you believe?

So, the Kansas board of education is thinking changes should be implimented that don't teach kids the evolution specifically posited by Darwin and most scientists. We inadvertantly teach children the only thing that matters is the kind of evidence supported by scientific observation, and we indirectly tell them anything spiritual or religious is mere dogmatism. We give them textbooks that make claims such as no evidence refutes evolution as posited by Darwin, as if scientists are the dictators of reality. When someone wants to change this, the scientific community is suddenly in an uproar, they threaten with legal action, refuse the use of textbooks, make news statements designed to embarrass the people who believe in God, and atheists support scientists to further eliminate all beliefs that are not supported by the scientific method. Is this not as extremist as religious fanatics who claim only the bible tells the "true" story? Isn't it radical empiricism vs. religious fanaticism?

There are over a billion Muslims in the world.

Have they no power or courage to stop the criminals? How much credibility should we lend this religion who will not stand up decisively and stop the slaughter?

How many bombs do we need to see in shopping malls?

How many bombs do we need to see in train stations?

How many car bombs do we need to read about?

The loss of human life is the most heinous act of villainy imaginable, but when a religion claims peace, why are they impotent in being peace makers?

Why isn't every imam in Islam speaking out against it? Why aren't they using their influence? Why aren't they shutting down the trafficing of money into these despotic organizations?

Muslim extremism could stop on a dime if the Muslims did it themselves. Until they do, why should anyone believe them? What beautiful philosophy could we ever find in the Koran that would cover over the stench of mindless, rampant murder?

matthew 12:38-42

The Scribes and Pharisees Ask for a Sign
38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered, saying, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.”
39 But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. 42 The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.

Could this be talking about now-a-days? and how does the rest of the verse relate to the beginning of the verse?

This is really just a poll, I already have my own thoughts and am curious about yours. I'm not going to criticize any honest answers, I would appreciate it if you are respectful about it. I know how many agnostics and atheists feel, but would like to hear from Christians, especially fundamentalists, rather than relying on some stereotype.

Before the 1960's, people used the bible to justify the segregation of races. The Bible has been used to demote the roles of women in our society.

Having Grown up in the South, I've met many Christians who openly make bigoted comments about Jews, Gays, Blacks, and everyone else different from themselves. Yet, surprisingly, the atheists that they condemn, do not have these prejudices.

What gives? Why are Christians so judgemental, hateful, and mean spirited? Don't they realize that they are constantly contradicting themselves?

As you may know whenever a messenger of God has appeared to guide mankind (He has been chosen to deliver God's message to mankind) ,majority of people have failed to recognize His knowledge in the beginnings as He did not appear the way they expected,so is very possible people of the past religions of God make the same mistake this time universally.

It states that God told Moses to strike the rock with his staff and water would come forth. But that's what caused him to not be able to enter the Promised Land. God actually told him to speak to the rock and water would come out. Why do you think my Bible has the whole thing wrong?

why can't religions just live with each other in peace?? why do they always have to criticize and try to bring each other down in some way? isn't that against most religions anyway? in most religions you are supposed to show tolerance and respect to all people even if they treat you horribly? why can't people just accept that they probably never will be only one religion??
