There is a verse in the Quran [9:30] that says that Jews thought Uzair was the son of god, and Christians thought that Jesus was the son of god. The verse says that this is not true and it says that god will FIGHT Christians and Jews because they say that.

Some people think that the word FIGHT means curse from god, some other radicals think that it is an order for Muslims to FIGHT Christians and Jews because they THINK that way.

In both cases, is it justified to fight (or curse) someone simply because he does not believe in what you believe?

Yes, it commands us to wipe them out to the last. It was during the prophet's time that when he wage war against the unbelievers,

Nobel Quran Al-Anfâl, verse 7,

"And (remember) when Allâh promised you (Muslims) one of the two parties (of the enemy i.e. either the army or the caravan) that it should be yours, you wished that the one not armed (the caravan) should be yours, but Allâh willed to justify the truth by His Words and to cut off the roots of the disbelievers (i.e. to wipe them out to the last)."

But HOWEVER, I must emphasise a point, ie WE HAVE TO GIVE THEM A CHANCE FIRST for ALLAH is most merciful. Give them a chance to convert to islam, or live under islamic rule. If they accept those terms, then we ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TOUCH THEM.

Nobel Quran At-Taubah Verse 5,

"Then when the Sacred Months (the Ist, 7th, 11th, and 12th months of the Islâmic calendar) have passed, then kill the Mushrikûn (see V.2:105) wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and prepare for them each and every ambush. But if they repent and perform As- Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), and give Zakât, then leave their way free. Verily, Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

Same Sura, Verse 29,

"Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allah, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

For those muslims (some of them answerers above) who are ignorant and do not fight jihad, they will be punished severely.

Same Sura, Verses 38 & 39

O you who believe! What is the matter with you, that when you are asked to march forth in the Cause of Allâh (i.e. Jihâd) you cling heavily to the earth? Are you pleased with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But little is the enjoyment of the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter. If you march not forth, He will punish you with a PAINFUL TORMENT and will replace you by another people, and you cannot harm Him at all, and Allâh is Able to do all things.

I have asked your first question already.

I can assure you the Koran says absolutely nothing about Muslims required to fight Christians and Jews, and there are FAR more passages that speak of the evil of violence and hatred toward others (check the answer u7w21i1ol wrote above) than there are passages that have been misconstrued by Muslim terrorists to mean that "holy war" must be waged against anyone not following Islam.

Just as with the Bible, the language of the Koran is not always so straightforward. As a result, just like the Bible, the book can be used to justify what is really evil.

Faux patriotic anti-Muslim Americans who are quoting from the Koran (often out of context) are either a) misinterpreting from the original language or b) finding any passage that might suggest supporting terrorist-like behavior. We can do the same thing with the Bible (if you want to).

Your second question can be summed up by what Jesus said: The one commandment is to love one another. Does that sound like he meant to fight and curse others who don't believe what you believe?

The desire for POWER is the worst sin.

What is the common rule of war! If you attack they will attack.

Muslims are ordered to fight or war against disbelievers, but there are several rulings too, to understand the cause of fighting as per commanded by the God, e.g. one of the main cause of fight is in the name of God that is to believe that HE is alone, or defend yourself as a second measure.

In Islam, there are two types of Jihad (Struggle/Fight) has been ordered one is on the ground and other is with yourself, the second one is of greater value then the first.

If you read the history you will find that religions under the Muslim command were always be safe, like todays. But as i said there many rulings of ground war, if some black sheeps mis-used the commands of God they are questionable like us.

Quran is sent down for humanity and is not specifically for muslims, and muslim in sense who submit himself towards God, and obeys His commands without mixing his personal views.

Torah, Bible & Quran all are the words of God to the Humanity, read them all they are not specific to someone.

If our parents or elders are wrong it is not right to follow them blindly and emotionally, anything you preceive with the intention of hate would result in a negative thought.

Think for a while (even if you dont believe) Quran is the word of God, then learn the mesage not from its mere translation but from its original text in Arabic, you will then see how deep that sentence is in fact.

And the Bible doesn't curse anybody? However it is not Muslims that are saying Allah's curse will be on them it is God himslef! Unlike the Bible every word in the Quran comes from God

It's not about he does not believe in what i believe it's the thing that they don't believe in what God says. So do you think it's a logical thing to talk against God? Ummm i don't think so. And no it doesn't mean He will curse them or send them to hell, it's just the thing that God can know. We cannot talk about the people who can be cursed or can be sent to hell.

And no God doesn't want us to fight with Christians or Jews, all of us are equal in His eye and we're not allowed to hurt anyone unless they attack us(to defend ourselves).

Supposedly, 2 thousand years in the past God ordered Jews kill each Christians. One thousand yr in the past God ordered Christians kill Muslims. I wrote that due to the fact I suppose God not ever order kill someone. Men are who say God ordered that. God is love, and mercy.

Yes, the koran says that muslims are to fight Jews and Christians wherever they find them until there are no more Jews and Christians.
Do not believe the lies muslims tell when they say islam is peaceful. They are taught to lie if they think lying will help spread islam.

In some peoples minds it is. The God I believe in does not. Christians believe in turning the other cheek. And helping out all of mankind, just not their peers.

Yes, it refers to war by God...just the same as the Bible does...neither says that people should fight....wierd how everyone glosses over that part.

Only those muslims that think they are God will think that the phrase 'God will fight ...' will think that it is an order to them. Most muslims do not think they themselves are god.

Second question: NO.
