I was stopped in my tracks when read your question, because
a while ago I worked at an auction house in a rural area in Pa. It
was a hot summer day, and the building was situated near a long stretch of highway, visibility was good in both directions. I saw a man coming up the road towards me. Even from a distance I could see he had his legged wrapped in a homemade bandage, and walked with crutches.I remember thinking, just keep going , don't stop here. But he saw me looking at him and came into the building. He looked like a homeless man. He was dressed too warmly for the hot weather that day, and he asked me if he could have a drink, water, soda?I said no we don't have any of that here. hoping he would just leave. He turned and limped away down the road, and I went to the other end of the building.Thinking to myself why did I turn him away, I have cold
drinks in the refrigerator.I turned and went too call after him,
running outside to the edge of the road, I looked in both directions
but he was gone! There is no way he could have walked out of
sight. And the rural road we were on had little traffic, I doubt the
way he looked that anyone would have picked him up! Poof
he was just gone! I had the strangest feeling I had done something
wrong turning him away without a drink.I will not forget that day.
weird. like I had been given a test of my compassion and failed

Well, not exactly the same thing, but the other day while I was walking I saw a woman coming from the corner and the moment I saw her my mood changed completely. I continue walking thinking what a beautiful day, that I love sunlight and things like that...
I think it has to do with the aura that each person has. Some people can actually see the colors of an aura, but most people, if not all, "feel" it as with your and mine example....
