I chose to believe in heaven because it makes me a better person; gives me hope in the midst of despair, affirms love when all I see is hate and helps me realize that my actions are important and count for something. I am not a mistake that pointlessly came to existence only to cease existing with physical death. If there is no heaven, I am proud of the way I have lived my life and if there is heaven I pray I shall be counted in. Either way, there is nothing to loose as far as I'm concerned.

Pyramid schemes and multi-level marketing programs offer to make me rich beyond my dreams... But I don't take up those offers.
Car and beer commercials seem to promise that I'll be showered in beauties in bathing suits if I purchase their products. And, again, I don't take those offers up either.
What's in common? The claims/promises are unproven and irrational.
My plan has to do with leading my life in a wholistic way. My decisions, actions, moral fiber are made up by understanding my place in society and the world, through observation, communication with fellow human beings, exposing myself to many views and philosophies, and trying my best to be a decent human being.
I do not live my life through doctrines or dogma. How much power do I have over this plan? Absolute.

Thanks but NO thanks.. I think I will stick to my beliefs that I have and not lower myself to say I believe in something just because someone tells me to, or it is the only true way, or even try the scare tactic of hell with me... Just because your religion has a book to live by does not make it the only true religion..and yes I have an alternate plan and its makes alot more sense then if you do this and this or you dont do this and this you will go to hell... what loving god will send someone into an eternity of pain and suffering?

Look at the bible, see the bible, now read the bible,
It's up too God who makes the cut, and who does not.
He only wants the best of the best of the best. Refining his
precious gold. The rest of us who don't meet the criteria, get
dumped in HELL for eternity for the sin of being born!

According to Christianity, heaven is only for those who believe in what they say (no one else) and put money in their basket. Someone is giving you false information.

First you have to actually believe that heaven is offered to everyone.
Your idea that heaven awaits us is by no means universal.

23 Now this wonderful truth-that God declared him to be righteous-wasn't just for Abraham's benefit. 24 It was for us, too, assuring us that God will also declare us to be righteous if we believe in God, who brought Jesus our Lord back from the dead. 25 He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised from the dead to make us right with God.

if you seek Jesus you will find him. when people dont find him its because they seek hoping not to find him or seek for something other than Jesus because they dont want him to be the answer. if you look for god hard enough, he will change your life.
