No. It just makes you a more tolerant person. I respect that you don't believe in God, and I hope you respect that I do.

You answered your own question. I don't understand atheism, I admit. i cant look at a sunset, nor a child nor a million other things, especially the things that have occurred in my life and not Know there is a Divine Being, but yes you have a right to your beliefs, as does everyone. That's what free will is about, and we certainly have free will. I agree, some of the things I hear so called Christians say, it makes me cringe...know they do not represent the teachings of Jesus. Faith, hope and love, the greatest of thesee is love...some of thes people need a refresher course in love. God Bless

Actually, I'm with ya on this one.

Religions fascinate me, and I enjoy learning of their different beliefs and colorful histories. I truly enjoy the vivid artwork religion has prompted through the centuries.

I don't subscribe to any of these beliefs, but I am intrigued by them. I also respect the beliefs of others, unless they try and push them on me. Respect must run both ways.

But, no - I don't think you're wierd at all. I think you're progressive, tolerant, and intelligent to be respectful of others while maintaining your own logical understanding of the world around us.

You're only as weird as you want to be! Don't let anyone else determine who or what you are!

I'm an agnostic and I respect other people's religious beliefs AS LONG AS it doesn't impinge upon my freedom FROM religion. For instance, I vehemently disagree with attempts to legislate morality and public condemnation of strictly religious opinions about homosexuality and abortion. Anyone is truly welcome to worship Jesus, Yaweh, Allah or that rock in the park... just don't preach to me about what you believe. I'm truly happy as I am.

Nah, not really. I try to understand all people, but there comes a time when you have to put your foot down and just come right out and say, "Dude, you're insane."

For many of us, this is the fundamentalist evangelical Christians and the violent minority of Muslims.

Everyone else seems content to go about their lives and not make a huge fuss about religion.

I studied Christianity so I fully accept their beliefs and why they believe in them but I also recognise that it's wrong to cling mindlessly to theological dogma. The only thing I ask of Christians is to be intellectually honest when dealing with their beliefs.

It may be different from most on Yahoo, but I think there are people like yourself in life, who respect others. That is how it should be. Thank you for being you.

No, of course not. It would be a better place if we all understood and respected eachother's beliefs and values.

Its one thing to understand and respect, its another thing to let them walk all over you.

I honestly do not care what someone believes. I really don't. And sometimes its interesting to learn about their beliefs. But I do care when they try to push their religion on me.
