I don't understand why Atheists are on here! Religious people are on here collecting brownie/ loyalty points propogating. If they convert someone extra points.

What is your purpose here? There's no reward for you. Are our lives really that sad that SOME of us have to spend hours on here trying to convince others they are wrong?

I think I'm a good person. I just took a test on them, maybe scored 50% or so I think. I think I would need a Christian person to translate them so I would know what they even meant.

Wouldn't suggestions be better for this century?

I really can see why murder is bad and you shouldn't steal and you should be nice to your parents.

Some of them are really outdated though, maybe the church should consider rewriting them for todays world maybe.

Okay, help me. This is for real, not a friend of a friend of a friend. She really stands outside with her dog and tries to provoke me. We built our dream home in the country and she walks down where we get the mail. And I wind up upset and feeling stupid. Okay she's around 50 or 60 and she openly admits she had 3 abortions throughout her 20's. It gets trickier here and I fail. She says an aborted fetus is "shot-gunned" into Heaven(?) So she wants to know why she can't be forgiven for that as though she did what was best (and expedient) for the "fetus"? I realize she wants God to forgive her or she wouldn't provoke me. But I need some effective answers that don't take all day because it's cold outside and she won't come over. Seriously. This deal is AFTER her having 3 abortions and if I get sassy with her she will consider that God's failure not mine! I am put on the spot to help her and I will. I'm not worried about my soul or spirit though so that helps. Help Me? What do I say?

I know that the R&S section of Yahoo Answers is but a small representation of the world at large but I did discover one thing...

There are extremist pagans.
There are extremist atheists.
There are extremist christians.
There are extremist muslims.
There are extremist

All of these insults, taunts, and baseless character assinations from all camps.

R&S is a circus and yet a lot are proud of that.

If a christian asked a christian question and wanted an answer from christians, then why do the atheists/pagans/whoever chime in and call them idiots for believing in God and Jesus?

Why do christians chime in on pagan questions saying what they believe is trash and this is the real answer. Obviously they don't believe you so why try it? If you know nothing about casting spells then don't answer with something completely off topic.

My favorites are those preach at you and yet have nothing in their response other than insults.

My mother-in-law passed away about four years ago. Like anyone else, my sister-in-law has a picture of her on the shelf. She and her husband occasionally will show the pic to their 2yr old daughter and say "Sydney, this is grandma Sybil". They do this so she'll know who she is since she died before Sydney was born. They'll also ask "Syndey, where's Grandma Sybil?", and she points to the front door or the stairs, not to the picture. Do you think she's seeing something we're not?

I have lots of paintings in my house, and I love going to musicals and plays. I myself am a theatre actress. I notice that many members of my family who are Protestant Christian are offended by my art collection and they always think the shows I do are offensive and they tell me not to do them anymore.

The last straw was when I took my best friend to see WICKED for her birthday. WICKED is a musical about the life and times of the Wicked Witch of the West. It's fictional. They are highly against such kinds of performance.

I've noticed many forms of art are offensive to those with a conservative mind. But I never understood why. Where in the bible does it say that these things are evil? Do they not know that it's just art?

Father kills daughter; doubted virginity

A Jordanian man fatally shot his 17-year-old daughter whom he suspected of having sex despite a medical exam that proved her chastity, an official said Thursday. The man surrendered to police hours after the killing, saying he had done it for family honor.

A state forensic pathologist, who works at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine in Amman where an autopsy was performed, said in a phone interview that the girl had run away from home several times for unknown reasons.

Weeks ago, the girl had returned home from a family protection clinic after doctors had vouched for her virginity and the father had signed a pledge not to harm her, the pathologist said on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the case.

Well, I've been avoiding the R&S section because most of the people here seem to be angry, ignorant and massively misinformed (my new fav. phrase to use here apparently), however I found this site and thought maybe you could all play the game and tell me what you think. In an effort to make you want to play, it is a game for Christians to try and prove against a computer that God exists.

Just for the record, I am an unbiased non-Christian who believes in God. Yes, they do exist.

Did Abraham have 5 "pillars" of HIS islam:
1. Did Abraham say "... and mohammed WILL BE his prophet?" Or did he say "...and Abraham is his prophet"? If so, why was THAT lost down through time (even though Abraham continues to be revered and honored)?
2. he could pray 5x/day
3. he could have given to the poor
4. he couldn't have fasted during Ramadan, since Ramadan DIDN'T EXIST then (since Ramadan celebrates revealing koran to mohammed, not - apparently - Abraham).
5. was Mecca even a PLACE then? How could abraham have gone on a hajj? If he did - why was THAT lost to history as well?

Did Abraham have OTHER pillars? What were they? Why did they change? If they DIDN'T change - HOW could Abraham have done the 5 pillars?

This is a SERIOUS question that NO ONE has ever answered. No one.

Then why is there so much room for speculation? Why wouldn't it be more black and white? Why would God try to confuse the people? Is Jesus God; is there a such thing as a trinity; is the "us" God and angels; or the trinity; was the messiah only supposed to be born of a young girl or a virgin?
Does anyone have knowledge of hebrew, and greek and know the slang of the language, and the correct translations?

In 2k years, if I wrote, He was a butt. Will they think then, that a person was just a big ol' butt walking around, or will they understand and know how to translate it properly? (he was a pig, you are a firecracker, she was a couch potato)

If we are born into sin, and we had no choice about it, its in our inherit nature, why be punished for it? That like kicking a dog because it barks it cant help it, or spanking a baby that cries because its hungry. Is God any better than a man and a woman who decide to have an abortion? A lot of people think that it's cool to call themselves Jewish even if they aren't Jewish. Also, some Jews spread the word that they are Jewish, even if they have no clue about being Jewish. Why do people do that? Is it cool to be a Jew? Personally, I don't think so. It seems like Jews are some of the most hated people in this world. :(
