these 2 religions are world apart! islam is a religion of monotheism, meaning the muslims (believers of islam) believe in only one god. however in hinduism, there are many gods. they pray to a special god for prosperity, another one for forgiveness, & so on & so forth.

muslims believe in the doomsday & the hereafter & that all humanbeings whether muslims or otherwise will be judged on the judgement day. on the other hand, the hindus believe in reincarnation, meaning each soul will be reborn into this world 7 times. each rebirth may take the form as another humanbeing or an animal.

in islam, it's compulsary for the women to put on the "hijab" (headscarf) but this isn't a practice for the hindus.

in islam, when someone passes away, the deceased will have to be wrapped in a white shroud & be buried. on the contrary, the hindus cremate the dead.

these are some of the many, many differences between islam & hinduism. hope these facts will enlighten you.

Islam (muslims) & Hinduism(hindus) are separate religions. Islam is monotheistic & Hinduism is pantheistic. Whatever its original intention may have been, Islam as practised under sharia law has evolved into a system of organised oppression. In such a system non-muslims are 2'nd class citizens & the" tolerance" they speak of is (for non muslims) the sort one would give one's dog. Certainly not the inalienable rights of a person by western standards. To be fair any state run according to the laws of a religion would, to a greater or lesser extent, be oppressive. Hinduism appears to be more tolerant in that India an overwhelmingly Hindu country adheres to the concept of a secular state. In the long run all religions are man's attempt to understand & explain God. As such they are an exercise in futility. There is probably more chance of an ant understanding humanity than there is of us understanding an omnipotent creator of the universe & everything in it, an infinite being. Indeed, one cannot add to infinity, ie infinity plus is a sheer impossibility. Therefore we all are either a part of God or a figment of his imagination. Ironically, I believe that concept has emrged from Hindu philosophy.

More than you can imagine. The Islamic (Muslim) religion is more closely related to Judaism and Christianity. All three worship the God of Abraham and have similar and overlapping beliefs.

Hinduism comes from an entirely different belief system and recognizes numerous gods non of which are the God of Abraham.

Hindus tend to view their Gods more as archetypes rather than literal as the Muslims, Jew and Christians do.

The difference is that Hindi's believe that you don't go to Paradise or Hell. They believe that you circulate from life to life based on the actions of their first life. Also they believe that you can create an image of their gods in statues and paintings. Muslims believe in one god that is ALLAH [God (A.S.T)]. We also believe that making images of Allah is a sin. Muslims also believe everyone will either go to Hell or Paradise on the day of judgment. That's the DIFFERENCE!
