Yes it is. From what I get from Gothic people is that there is a deep sense of angst about the state of the world and they tend to be more melodramatic and melancholy. Your daughter is probably a very sensitive person with a kind heart and spirit and just is overwhelmed with how screwed up the world is. If she's spiritual, that's a beautiful thing. She will do something great one day.

What are you worried about - is it the clothes? Has she started swearing? Listening to lots of music with swearing? Swearing is on TV on the street and in film, if she is using, it talk to her if she is just listening its just a part of the music.
Most goths have a community that helps each other, that backs each other up and tends to be very supportive.
Do you remember the controversy over number of the beast by iron maiden. It is the story almost straight from revelations they do not glorify it they just wrote a story.
It has been found that people listen to this type of music because it resonates with the way they feel. Support her, keep praying and reading the bible together as I assume you do. The music will no more tempt her to worship Satan or go on a killing spree than pop music would inspire her to become promiscuous.

if you daughter is a devoted Christian then it does not matter what she wares or how she looks. God will accept her the way that she is.my pastors daughter is not "goth" but she is "punk" and she has her own unique style.and if you daughter is as big of a Christian as she says and acts then she ought to know what is OK,and what is overboard.all that matters is that she has God in her heart, so what if she sticks out like a sore thumb maybe that's how she can attract people to her to disciple. only she and God really know, but if you want to know too, just pray. : )

This is just my opinion from what I have learned as a follower of Jesus Christ..Your actions and dress code matters if you proclaim to be a follower of God/Jesus Christ's principle of living..We are supposed to be a Light to the world !! And try to follow and live according to HIS Word's an Example, showing love and kindness and respect to everyone..Wouldn't be any different if someone was wearing seductive attire ..It's your appearance and it surely matters I think ..Myself I think the Goth look represents Satan !! And remember Satan knows The Bible also ...
Sure hope this helps you Sis ..
God Loves you and so do we

Sounds fine: Goth is quite compatable with spirituality. Were she into Elvis, though: seems impossible anyone could be a Christian and listen to that danged Rock 'n Roll...

I don't feel it matters what your daughter looks like on the outside as much as what she looks like on the inside. If she treats herself and others as Jesus taught us then it's okay. If she does drugs, microwaves babies, doesn't go to school and etc etc then no it's not. Her being goth may just be her attempting to express her individuality and find herself.

Goths can belive in religion. Its just this whole thing with being dark and mysterious. As long as she keeps a cross around her neck and don't Harm anyone she'll be fine. One of the things i belive in is God and i keep a cross around my neck at all times And i am as goth as goth can get!!!

Goth is just a style that she will probably grow out of, but her Christianity is for life. Leave her to God. He'll take care of her.

Tell her to avoid Marilyn Manson, Hawthorne Heights, and all that emo crap that ISN'T goth. So long as she's aware of who Bauhaus and Siouxsie and the Banshees are, she should be okay...
Oh, and there are definitely such things as Christian goths. http://www.christiangoth.com is a site devoted particularly to them; it's quite interesting.

It does not matter who you are on the outside but what God has done to you on the inside. I would say that perhaps with time God may convict her that perhaps the way she is dressing maybe was for the wrong reasons, but let God convict her, the main thing is keep encouraging her to live for Jesus, dont be one of those discouraging you have to dress like this you have to listen to hymns, let God convict her of how she should be and trust in God to lead her, her faith is most important, besides she may be able to reach some people like that , that others may not.
like paul said, i become all things to all men that i might win some.
