2)Are non-christians concerned about the invasion of privacy? 3)Do people realize it will be in place on May 11,2008 and how it will affect their lives?

"If you have an ID card, it is solely for the purpose of allowing the government to compel you to produce it. This would essentially give the government the power to demand that we show our papers. It is a very dangerous thing."

ACLU is one of the proponents of this invasion of privacy. I suppose you want your National I.D. card or hand scanned for the drinks at the gay bar so the government knows all about it????

So, how do you blame that on the Republicans? It is neither a Republican or Democratic, Christian or Non issue but has major implications for both and is being pushed by both actually.

For your information ma'm, the supermarket scanners are part of the technology in place to enable a person's hand or forehead to be scanned to take the money electronically from their bank just like a debit card or electronic check is processed today. That is why the concern. It is not any one thing alone but a SYSTEM that is coming.

J.D.- yes it makes me think that no matter how we vote, God uses people to bring about the fulfilment of prophesies without them even realizing what they are doing. Laws have been passed with the intentions of keeping us safer. The unforeseen results will be a Big Brother government who monitors and then controls every aspect of our lives possible and will enable the anti-Christ to control the entire world. If you control who has a driver's license, you control who has a job, buys a house, pays income tax, and ultimately that means the lives of the people. We already have imminent domain as a gross abuse of government power. That is a threat to every American. If they take the right to bear arms, watch us as we shop and walk on the streets already, then you see how the Anti-Christ will be able to control everything and find anyone anywhere anytime and the selling points will include lost or abducted children, criminals, etc. It affects us all because we are U.S. citizens.

J.C.- what I said was "lead up to the mark of the beast". I believe it will be fraught with too many problems of theft and abuse and counterfeits made from real ones just like they do now with legal documents proving I.D. I think it is part and parcel of conditioning people to the mark as being the technological solution to the problems it will help create. This isn't so much a discussion on prophesy as it is recognizing how technologies and laws being passed today are being sold to us when the fact is we are losing our liberties and it's leading us up to the "solution" that will be offered by this brilliant leader to all our problems in the world. I like the liberty quote. Exactly what I'm saying here.

Mr. Ed., with the articles totally from a secular unbiased prospective I've been reading, the national I.D., health card and passport would be replaced with a form of biometric identification. Also, to those raptured folks, congratulations on skipping the tribulation which is apart from the wrath of God. They that live Godly in Christ Jesus SHALL SUFFER PERSECUTION and Revelations says "these are they who have come out of GREAT TRIBULATION" so somebody will be martyrs for Christ in the end times whether you want to be babtized with Christ's babtism and drink of his cup or not. They WILL be beheaded if they do not take the mark. It doesn't take a prophesy expert to figure that one out!

keichi- it is issued by the D.M.V. and you can't get a driver's licence without it! Read the articles.

Yes. Concerned for myself and others but encouraged to look forward to Christ's return.

The national i.d. card will facilitate the control of buying and selling but the card itself will not be the mark of the beast.

So many souls unwarned or unconcerned and unprepared makes me grieve with Christ and gives me a desire to more clearly reflect His image to those around me.

I also have a concern for fellow Christians who are misled into thinking that they will be raptured before the trouble comes.

As we see the fulfillment of prophecy, our faith in the final triumph of Christ's kingdom should strengthen and we should go forth with renewed courage to do our appointed work.

I believe it's leading to the mark of the beast.

The verichip I heard about from a video about 10 years ago. The man who invented it was for people with spinal nerve damage originally. But I guess it wasn't directed to put in the spine and the research went a different direction. That it had a lithium battery, and that the heat changes in the back of hand and forehead changed more dramatically in temperature so recharged the battery somehow. That person thought it would turn into the mark of the beast also.

IBM was connected with the whole thing. (My husband thought about another connection with IBM. Remember the computer HAL in that Space Odyssey 2001? Add one letter and you get IBM.)

Also, that the info of each person is being stored in a computer in Belgium that they call the beast. The info that can gather all personal information is the SS No. and the mailing zipcode. A total of 18 numbers divided by 3 = 6+6+6. So, I wouldn't have the chip put in. It is warned that the mark of the beast would be inserted into the back of hand or forehead. So, having a card is no concern to me, but having something inserted would be.

No, the mark of the beast has nothing to do with an id card, it is a spiritual matter.
Is it an invasion of privacy? I don't get it. When I lived in Europe, everybody had a national id card, and I didn't see the difference.
If you have a drivers' license, or a passport, or a health card, you are revealing as much or more as you would through an id card.
The only people who should be afraid of an id card are people who want to do things that they wouldn't want to be caught at.
It could also simplify bureaucracy.
EDIT:
By the way, about the microchip being implanted in the hand - check out the web pages "Truth or Fiction", and "Hoax-busters". The first one deals with it, and possibly the second as well.
Check out those pages for any of these amazing stories.

A national ID, I dont think IS the Mark of the Beast, being identifiable isnt a bad thing nor is it the same as the Mark, where no one can buy or sell without it. Now the "chip" they want to implant in people's hands very well could be, since it will also be used like a bank card. I think this will be implicated on the notion that crime will be reduced because no one will need to carry cash and drug dealing will be much more difficult...However NO ONE is planting any kind of chip in my head or hand even if its not the Mark.... God wont be angry about me being cautious thats for sure.

Interesting idea however the mark of the beast is described as a physical mark upon the hand or forehead. A National ID card does not fit this construct. That said, I should point out that the government that is pushing this "mark" is the government supported greatly by evangelical Christians. It makes you think doesn't it.

Your view perhaps staggering and mine may be incorrect yet I see the mark of the beast being something extra non secular. 6 is devil's quantity and seven is god's quantity. The quantity for the beast is 666. considering Revelations is a symbolic e book I see this as being symbolic additionally. i think of it is asserting the beast's quantity is 666 because of the fact all 3 areas of him are evil - his flesh, his spirit and his strategies. So in view of that, I see the mark of the beast being his end result, the component that we could believers comprehend that he isn't of God. And everybody who follows him might have the comparable evil end result or non secular mark besides.

National ID cards will effect holders of drivers license = 0%
*People with driver’s license will not be getting them.

National ID cards will effect illegal aliens = 0%
Illegal Cuban immigrates who drive around in Florida do not get arrested for not having ID on them because police complain that there are to many illegal immigrates to arrest them all.

The bible uses the number 7 as a symbolism of perfection where 6 is used as meaning impure or imperfect. 666 is just to show how imperfect the lamb beast in revelation will be (false religion).

The bible says NOT to use prophecy for your own personal interpretations. Be Warned. 2Pe 1:20 (KJV) "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation"

Should be. What is a ID good for? Why do we have to have ID's? If you ask me who I am, do you have the faith to believe me when I answer? Or do you doubt and fear and ask me to see an ID? ID's are used to promote fear and doubt. ID's are the mark of the beast of fear and doubt. Can you imagine a world without ID's? It's coming. Very soon, probably within the next 40 years. But judgment first, then paradise.

Not really, I hope to go in the rapture before its required. I know things will happen on the earth. Anyone taking the mark on the hand or forehead will be damned.
