Let's all just con him into thinking we buy into his childlike nonsense, in spite of the fact that anyone with a mental age greater than ten knows it's ridiculous! Don't Christians realize how idiotic they make their God sound when they say he'd fall for this?

Have you ever met someone (or maybe yourselves) who is, in general terms, a good buddhist but still clings to the samsaric pleasure of sex?

What are your thoughts about Buddhist precepts on sex?

From the New American Standard version

Matt 8:5 And when Jesus entered Capernaum a centurian came to him 8:6 and saying "Lord my servant is lying paralyzed at home fearfully tormented"

Luke 7:2 And a centurian's slave who was highly regarded was sick and about to die. 7:3 when he heard about jesus he sent some Jewish elders asking him to come and save the life of his slave.

In matthew it says the centurian asked Jesus to save his slave yet in Luke it says he asked Jewish elders to go ask jesus. If that is not a contradiction why is it not? If it is a bad translation why has it not been translated properly in the last 1700 years.

blood of Jesus, but how many people believe themselves to be Christian and why? Just curious as to what people actually believe a Chriatian is. It used to be that when someone said they were a Christian you knew exactly what they meant. But, now the term is used so loosely, it doesn't have the same meaning as it does for others. The meaning it is supposed to have, when one says they are Christian. So, what do you believe makes you a Christian? And do you believe you have any responsibility as a Christian?

This isn't a knock on anyone, just an accountability question. Sometimes we need to be reminded of what it means to be Christ like. =)

Like you lived your life all good or at least "believed" enough to get into heaven, (depending if your christian sect).
and once you are there, it is for all eternity

then you have a magical scythe that has been sharpened with the power of the lord (magically sharp)

and slice some christians in their white robes.
wouldnt red blood look dramatic in a place that is whiter than white?

what would happen to you? could you be thrown out of heaven?

If people can be rotten and then reform and get into heaven, then why not the other way and go bad once there?

If you have a genuine question, why do people who have no clue about what you're actually asking feel the need to put their 2 cents in?

After the Christian Dominion is established we need to adopt the traditional method of Capital Punishment(used for thousand of years in Holy Christian countries) for capital crimes.
I suggest beheading with an axe in a chopper's block.
It will be one of the milestone to go back to our traditional values
and culture.

OK, I think we can all agree on two points first. Even if you disagree, give me the benefit of the doubt, please.

1. We cannot prove there is a God. Saying "I have faith in God" does not count, because it is not evidence.

2. We cannot prove there is not a God. Saying "evolution is proof" does not count, because God could have started evolution. (Which I believe). The entire idea of God is that His existence cannot be proven by men.

Anyway, I don't think many Athiests out there have ever heard of Pascal's Wager. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascal%27s_wager

It says, simply, that if you were a gambling person, you should bet on the existence of God, every time. Because then, you are always betting on an infinite reward.

If you bet on God and win, you get infinity years in Heaven.
If you bet on God, and there is no God, you only lose 80 years of partying lifestyle.
If you bet against God, and there IS a God, you get infinity years in hell.
If you bet against God, and there is no God, you get 80 years of a partying lifestyle.

If you would give someone in Vegas odds of 80 to infinity, they would take it every time. So, in essence, if you dismiss the idea of God, you are betting on a bad bet every time.

If you could put down an $80 bet that the Texans would win the Super Bowl, and the bet would pay out $80 Billion, wouldn’t you take the bet every year? You can’t pass up those kinds of odds. And that’s only $80 Billion, which is less than infinity.

I will not deny that there is a small chance God does not exist, but it is not worth betting for. Just a thought.

I've been told Baptists think dancing is sinful.

Is it true and is this based on some biblical principle? Or fear?

I am invited to a Baptist wedding and was told that the couple is going to have their reception outside of their church because they want to have dancing.

So is it that Baptists won't allow dancing in their church buildings, even a receptional hall? Or that members have to step outside their church building and faith to do the two step?

I don't get it. HELP!

When someone committed unethical behavior in our church some years ago, they were approached and offered a chance to recant and confess their sin before the Lord. They did not, and they were asked to leave the congregation, which they did.

Is the rite of reconciliation the way that the Catholic Church combats unethical behavior in order to keep itself pure, i.e. "nipping things in the bud" before it escalates to excommunication? Should my church have done the same? I get the feeling that if this person were offered a confessional, the outcome might have been different.

If you are to be killed and the only way out is to commit fornication, will you say “ I don’t sin because I was trying to save my life, and to do this I need to commit fornication”. Don’t you have faith that Jehovah can make another way out so that you remain faithful to him?

If someone you love will die if you don’t say the information about his whereabouts, will a true Christian break God’s law and tell a lie or just simply either keep quiet or withhold the information from the bad person?”

If you were standed with no food except for unbled meat (from Acts 15, Rev 2) or human flesh, will a true Christian eat those or will have faith that God can provide other food aside from those? If the person ate human flesh and say that he has not committed a sin because he is just saving his own life, is he truly a Christian?
