Well God tested him many times........
FIRST, when he was to pick up his belongings, leave his life style and move to another city.
THIS WAS A TEST IN: Abraham's Faith in god and endurance
SECONDLY, there was also the occurrence when his wife gave birth to Issac. Then, God wanted Abraham to sacrifice his life.
THIS WAS A TEST IN: Abraham's trust, again faith; faith that God could bring him back to life.
So no, it wasn't scientific.............

This was not so much as a test of Abrahams faith as it was to build his character, God in His Omni-temporial nature, knew of Course wether or not Abraham could pass the test, this was not an issue, this was designed by God to build faith and strengthen Abrahams Character.

god is a total whack-job, if he was real he'd be put in jail for torture, murder, and child abuse (actually, I think god has committed every crime possible at one time or another).
