"God is the Truth. The Bible is the truth about the Truth. Theology is the truth about the truth about the Truth. A good sermon is the truth about the truth about the truth about the Truth. It is not the Truth. The Truth is God alone! It is only the Truth Himself who is of help, and we have to penetrate through sermons, through theological books, through everything which is "words", and be bound up with the reality of God Himself.
"Pastors and zealous witnesses who are handling the Word as a calling from God are in danger of giving holy words more value than they really have. Holy words are only the means to arrive at the reality expressed by them. If you are united with the Reality, the Lord Almighty, evil loses its power over you; it cannot break the Lord Almighty. If you only have words of the Lord Almighty you can be easily broken!"

Since the three KKK members were dismissed from the Baptist Church and ran out of town. A Methodist Church was burned and they are blaming it on the Baptist. Who is right in this dispute? There have actually been fistfights in local bars trying to resolve the matter. The Governor has considered calling out the national guard but they are so badly needed in Iraq he has decided to let the local officials handle it for now. Will Woebegone Texas go up in flames before the dispute is resolved?

I am trying to find in the Bible the scripture that says something like this " God will not burden us with more than what we can bear"
Can someone tell me where that scripture is in the Bible?

I’ve read some of their beliefs about the origin of life and there seem to be many different interpretations that are a strange mixture of scientific theory and religious dogma. It’s as though, community religious leaders overlook this growing trend and are just thankful that the well informed youth of today are still intrinsically Christian….for the time being.

I find it is rude for someone to tell me that they know what is best for me, that my belief system is flawed, or that I am going to suffer because I don't believe in their religion.

This isn't limited to the Christians and Moslems, but those NIchiren Buddhist (SGI-USA) also.

I believe that not everyone can possibly believe the same thing. I think that we should ALL be tolerant of other faiths even if we don't agree with them. I think we should get facts about claims before automatically believing things. This stands for all. I've seen so many different religions bashing each other in here tonight that I'm just disgusted. We're all people. Some believe in God, some don't. You can't force somebody to believe what they don't believe in their heart, so why force it? What do you think about this?

i am sure that Jesus' blood it the biggest power that we can use. I have used it myself and i made a daemon run away. I've heard stories like this lot of times. Althought I cannot understand something. Please don't tell me that it exists as I already know it. But please tell me how did Jesus take our sins on the cross and why he had to die in such a cruel way. I also find the same kind of question on the old testament with the animals. Using them for sucrfice people managed to be free from sins. So how could such a thing happend? I know it was God's order. I know it happends I just cannot understand the way. Please explain me with logic mean and through bible.

I have a paper due, over what I believe about Soteriology, or the study of salvation. The questions are drawn from a catechism. There are 24 total questions within this paper that I will answer. On executive decision, I chose to post each of these on Answers! but.... I am going to do them about once each day. They will be titled "Soteriology - Q # ______ . " I am going to poast them, one each day, because I am hoping to get as many different people to answer these questions as possible. If you would like to answer all 24, search them through my name, and answer as many as you would like to. PLEASE back up your answers with Scriptural references, theologian quotes, your opinions, etc. I want you to be as creative as possible, and I want as many people to participate as possible. Thank you for your participation! I do not want you to do my research. I want more opinions than just people I can find on my own. In a sense, think of it more as an interview.

I'm atheist and what not, and I'm a bit sick of people being rude to me. So I was wondering if I could be like "hey you can't be cruel to me it's your book!"

meh. Being an atheist in Texas stinks.

I'm not a Christian, I guess if I had to classify myself as anything I would be Agnostic, but I can't help but to feel some sympathy for Christians on this board.
Every other question asks about extreme fundamentalism (Noah's Ark, 6000 year earth, 6 day creationism) as if that is what the everyday Christian believes. Most Christians read stuff like that symbolically, and know that there are parts of the Bible that aren't meant to be literally interpreted.
I don't see too many threads that start with the premise of bashing any other religion or stance such as Atheism/Agnosticism with the exception of Islam.
