What criteria did you use to evaluate it?

My friend (she's really religious) said that she doesn't believe in medicine, meaning that if she had any kind of disease/illness (cancer and AIDS count too) she would not take any medicine because she believes that she could heal (even from AIDS) with god's help. I mean, I respect people no matter what their beliefs are (all you Christians out there, I know I'm mean sometimes, but I love you all, you know that), but I find it really hard to understand as well as respect her belief. Does anyone agree with me? I mean if one of your relatives/friends had a disease they could die from but they didn't believe in medicine so they die faster than they would if they actually used medicine, wouldn't it be ignorant? Plus, if god could actually heal people like some people say, then what's up with all these people dying. I'm sorry, I was trying really hard to understand what her point was but I just don't see it. Comments?

That also means you believe there nothing wrong with beastiality, right?

What if someone wants to marry a rock or a tree?

By the current sexual freedom thinking in society;people should be able to marry anyone or anything, evan if its an animal or inanimate object, right?

If Joe Blow wants to marry a camel,is that okay?

and if Jane doe wants to marry her refrigerator, that's okay right?

My Dad and the rest of my Family say we are but I think God is
are you thinking the same thing as I am or not?

When you find something morally questionable in your own Scripture, do you say, "God knows better than me." But then when you look at someone else's Scripture and see something morally questionable, do you say, "Aha! See, this can't be from God, because it has this in it!"?

Are you consistent in the way you evaluate various Scriptures?
Be honest!

Would the entire theistic world suddenly "up and quit", and kill themselves?

Of course not.

The answer is obvious. People would deal with it. They'd learn to accept it, and because WE ALL KNOW we have this capacity, we know humanity will one day progress beyond the limits of human religious invention.

The mere fact that you can comprehend the implications of this question proves that you can conceive an existence, A GOOD EXISTENCE, that does not include a god

And guess what... the world would go on, business as usual.

It might even get better.

Knowledge and technology are opposing forces to religion. Thanks to this wonderful medium of the Internet (peace be unto him) and to a lesser extent, T.V., the collective knowledge of humanity is increasing faster. Religion is weakening. Those whose lives (and livelihoods) depend on religion are reacting with desperation. Denial is widespread. Fanaticism and extremism is occurring more and more often.

In other words, they have foreseen their doom. They would have us regress rather than lose their religion.

Can someone remind me where this this belief or myth comes from. The story goes that dolphins used to swim close to the land before humans existed, and they imagined or daydreamed about these human like creatures and 'poof' somehow over a period of time dolphins started seeing what they have dreamt up appearing on the shores of the see. (it goes something like that)

anyone got some clues?

Heaven and Hell are real and eternal. A human soul will be in one or the other place, a few minutes after it separate from body on death. Hell is too horrible to think about it; Heaven is too good to be imagined. (must see WWW.SPIRITLESSONS.COM)
Bible, the guide for Heaven, the handbook for living.

It says in the Bible:
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; such a thing is an abomination. Leviticus18:22

The word abomination sounds strong. It sounds as if this sin could be considered much worse than many other sins. By being a homosexual do you ruin any chance of getting into Heaven?

That's a question I wish to challenge with: If one's do not believe and worship the so call 'god', do the so call 'god' still love them? If he do, why the christian teaching always emphasize that 'believe him and you will save'? since one's no need to believe him still be save. If he don't, that simple discriminating especially he's a 'god', isn't he should love everybody, even 'save' everybody though not everyone believe and have faith in him?

Do you assume that your sense of morality is therefore wrong in this instance? Or do you start to question your Scripture?

Which response do you think is most appropriate?

compassion for those who have different beliefs other than your own? Personally i don't think that there are any right or wrong answers. It seems to me that all proof is based upon something else (and so on back and back until there is no ground left to stand on - or prove anything from). It also seems that faith (meaning faith in a diety) comes from an idealistic view of how life should be lived (meaning; the ideal human condition). What difference does it make if someone believes something different than you do? Is there a way for all beliefs and ideas to co-exist in harmony?

What is your religion???

2007-01-25 12:28:07 · 6 answers · asked by Anna M 2

In my opinion, YES. This is because since God is resolute not to appear to us, she or he has to steal a horse at night to ride it on the moon or Jupiter and since I havent heard any story relating a lost horse, God must be bringing them back in the early morning. So we cant say for sure that God is a horse thief but we can say that horses can live outside the Earth. This is because no one finds his or her horses' corpses in the mornings.... This story must give us many clues about the universe and God's nature. God is not a freak.

I am asking this question because something came up today in my life that makes me think that Christians can do anything they desire if God's will gets done. I really do not think this is right. What do you think?

Let's say you have this book before you that some people claim is from God. Would a good way to discern if they were right be to see how well the book holds up to your own sense of morality?
