7. I undertake the precept to refrain from dancing, singing, music, going to see entertainments, wearing garlands, using perfumes, and beautifying the body with cosmetics.

Where it says "music" does that mean you arent allowed to PLAY music or LISTEN to music? Or both? Thanks!

Why do some people think that Gay marriage is wrong?? How come marriage is something that 'has' to be between a man and a woman, and why can't it be between two of the same sex if they really love each other???

I honestly want to know why, most of you who disagree with it just say "it should be between a man and a woman" or you say "It's wrong"... do YOU even know why you think that???

Thanks.

I was sitting outside. At first, I felt like my mind turned over, then instantly everything that was outside was inside of me, the light rain, trees, everything was tickling my insides, it was too wonderful and I came out of it. Later, I wondered if babies "see" in this way. Do you know of a way to get back to this way of seeing, and if so how? Thanks.

well, i read in the Bible He did, but what do you think that means?

and why, when people left in disgust after hearing that, Jesus didn't ask His disciples to make those people stay so that He can explain that He only meant it to be symbolical, if He only meant it to be symbolic?

is it really symbolic or not?

that no where in the bible does it say that Satan and his angels actually hurt mankind, It does say however, on multiple occasions that whenever Satan or any of his angels came in contact with humans, he gave them power and Knowledge. God can not handle the fact that humans do not want him here and he always kills innocence...the world turned his back on 'Him' Aeon's ago when 'Satan' cam and gave us the truth...He cant have us so no one will...spoiled brat!

the bible is completely metaphor...for those of you that never caught on....

I've always denied God and the Bible, yet my life is better than most christians that I've ever met. My wife and i are undyingly in love, our lifes are blessed with money, yet we cherish little things in life and take nothing for granted. I am totally content and happy inside and I always give to charity and have wonderful morals. I'm living proof that you dont need god in your life since he is made up.

caught up in the middle of; "god's great dance, the universe, life itself" or whatever you want to call it; shouldn't we all recognize the truth that we are all here, in the same place, together? The answer to that is, 'yes'. And if we're all here together, how can any of you possibly believe that 'this is right, and that is wrong'? If "life, or creation, or the universe, or whatever it may be that is going on here" is taking place here and now, and has not yet reached its completion, or conclusion, then how can you possibly feel like you know the one, true, truth that encompasses the all of reality? My question is, "Why are your beliefs true, and someone else's beliefs, false?" - - - What makes you right, and nobody else?

Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, Kurt Cobain, Vincent Van Gogh are in Hell for committing suicide. Probably James Dean, Mark Twain, Thomas Jefferson, Ghandi, Thomas Edison too among billions of others.

Why couldn't he just create us to be immortal too and secure from death. It seems that an eternal god is cruel because he never has to face death. That he created life that does suffer, doesn't speak much about him. It's clear that in most religions (of the west) that humans are portrayed as small and mortal. It's like the rich imposing on the poor. Then god expects us to love and worship him?

And the afterlife has no meaning here. I'm talking about this life, the only life we are guaranteed. They only one we are SURE is real. We are alive and aware and conscious, right now.

The greatest example of fear I've personally seen, is when others are unable to forgive, or lack the compasson to emphatize with others. On the surface these people may appear stubborn or difficult, but if you look closely, it really is fear.

Many consider compassion and forgiveness acceptable when it's applied to people they love or know well. But when those same qualities are applied to those who hate you, or have tried to harm or betray you in some way, people consider it a weakness, and they feel a sense of entitlement to hold a grudge. What do you think about this? When you know the cause of unforgiveness is fear of appearing vulunerable or weak, does that affect how you view the other person? Does that make you have more compassion for them? Thanks.

like arguing that Hitler was a real Christian even when he and his fellow Nazis were slaughtering millions of people (and you "conveniently" ignore the very obvious distinction between someone claiming to be a Christian and someone actually living as a Chrsitian, and the fact that the Nuremberg prosecutors denounced Nazism as fanatically ANTI-Christian!), but you deny that the scientists who rejected Galileo's work were real scientists. So what's up with that?
