I was sitting outside. At first, I felt like my mind turned over, then instantly everything that was outside was inside of me, the light rain, trees, everything was tickling my insides, it was too wonderful and I came out of it. Later, I wondered if babies "see" in this way. Do you know of a way to get back to this way of seeing, and if so how? Thanks.

I AM living in that experience writing this, you feel it when a truth becomes known to you and you realise you have always known the truth! We are all with each other but they don't realise it only some do and when you pay attention to everything but yourself then the mind "rolls" as you say as if you were under the water in a kayak and then able to roll back the right way and you experience the truth of life! Truly not mystical but actual!
Nothing will remain uncovered! You are uncovering me and I you! let us begin then to discover the world!

Recreate it by remembering the need

knowing it to be true
knowing it to be you!
you did it, you will do it again
it can only grow inside of you
Attention you must give it!
Now watch the mustard seed grow!

"It will never be found by seeking, but it is only seekers who find it." The quest starts with a seeking mind, after awhile you find that's been the problem, good at first by not falling for "beliefs", but later a block to true "practise". Still the mind, let go of self & other.----Yes. Yes, very hard to let go, the seeking has become like a part of. Maybe this is the koan....Seeking=reason. When seeking brings reason to an end, intiution {wisdom} is what is. Dorthy says "were not in Kansas anymore". Or
if there's a bustle in your hedgerow don't be alarmed now, it's just a spring clean {the ending of reason} for the may queen {the flowering of intiution, wisdom}. The answer is in the question. To recreate anything is time bound{ego} subject-object. A mystical experience transcends that, one is all, all is one, the real truth. The one I AM hit it.

You can meditate and get to a place of active contemplation, but the rest is up to God. You can not bring yourself to this state. It is a gift.
Also all the great mystics say that one should not seek to have the experience. You are to seek only God, not the 'feel good' part of the experience.

If you like to read you might try St. John of the Cross, but he is a bit deep. 'Interior Castles' by St. Teresa of Avila or the 'Cloud of Unknowing' might be helpful.

It takes practice. I find it happens to me when I can go deeper inside myself and feel warm and cozy, then look at the world from that perspective. I think babies seeing that way is a good comparison.
Oh, but don't get caught up in expecting what you had last time. It may be different, but you'll get the same feeling from it.

I would try to get back into that state of mind. Imagine the feelings that were going through you in that instant, try to recreate them. Was it a rushing feeling, a feeling of warmth and joy rising, or something of the sort? Perhaps they shall set off another experience if you meditate on those feelings and thoughts. Sometimes this works for me.

all things take place in the eternal 'now' - align yourself with that feeling or with how you want to feel - i suffer from the same loss as you, if i knew how to recreate it, i would live in that state, but for now, i find myself the same as it was when i started, a seeker... it's what we're all looking for...

To become perfect is to approach the target, getting closer and closer, but never reaching it. Therefore eternity.

To resonate with Creation.

Mushrooms would do it. LSD might do it too, but I've never tried it.

You cant recreate them. That's why they are mystical.
