I believe that not everyone can possibly believe the same thing. I think that we should ALL be tolerant of other faiths even if we don't agree with them. I think we should get facts about claims before automatically believing things. This stands for all. I've seen so many different religions bashing each other in here tonight that I'm just disgusted. We're all people. Some believe in God, some don't. You can't force somebody to believe what they don't believe in their heart, so why force it? What do you think about this?

As a Buddhist I wholeheartedly agree with you! Thank you for posting... you're a fine example of an intelligent Muslimah and why I support Islam and Muslims who are like you.

I studied Islam in depth, from an inside perspective and out, and it took me years to get an understanding enough to appreciate it, even though I disagreed, which is difficult for some people to do. Not everyone has the delightful karma to have been given opportunity to just soak themselves in such studies, and then there are those who just don't want to... either way, hats off to ya!

If I were religious, I'd say, "Amen to that!".
Some time in my teens I found myself believing in science more than religion, I guess because science can be proved, while religion we have to just believe in and take it at that (I was raised Catholic, by the way). Just the same, I don't go around trying to convert everyone I meet, and I don't start debates about religion to "prove" to other people that I'm right.
Curiously, though, a few times in my life people have asked me, "Why do you hate God?"; but I don't! I think I'm a pretty tolerant person.
Anyway... I agree with you 100 percent!

To Muslims and Arabs across the globe:

Reject hate, embrace love. Bring out the best in Islam by showing your compassion, gratitude and forgiveness. Make the holy land truly holy by giving Israel and the Jewish people the respect they deserve in their tiny little country. This is not a crisis over land. It is a crisis of the soul; a crisis in our faith, judgment and self confidence. Israel should not be regarded as an enemy, but as a blessing to our neighborhood. We need not fear peace, but embrace it.

I don't believe in forcing anything on anyone.
or bashing anyone for what they believe.
but I do feel bad for people who will not read or listen to something just because they don't believe in it.

we need to listen to people with an open mind,
and if we're solid in what we believe, then nothing should be able to shake us right?

But the key is to have an open mind and be willing to listen and weigh the truth.
I believe if we truly are seeking the truth, God will not allow us to be deceived. His word says "If you seek me with all of your heart you will find Me."

I don't believe that you should bash anyones religion either. I think that you could agree to disagree and respect each others beliefs and not try to push your beliefs on each other.
My best friend and I (for 16 years now) are a good example of this we agree on alot of things but we disagree on alot of things also and we can debate the issue and even get loud at times over it, but we know each other and we can agree to disagree and accept each others right to believe in our beliefs.
One of our big debates is pro choice/ pro life. She feels that everyone has a right to choose and no one has a right to tell another person what to do. OK I am pro life (For me there is no reason that I should end a life through abortion), but any woman has the right to choose for herself, she will answer in the end for what she does. We don't agree on it but we accept that we are not going to agree on it.

My belief is that I worship the one and only God. When Moses asked him his name he said it is I am. I believe that without Jesus there is no going to heaven. I believe that Jesus is the only way to the father and thereby the only way into heaven. I believe this because of my personal experience with him. I know you will probably believe that I am forcing my beliefs because of this but I am of the belief that I speak the truth and as the old expression goes the truth hurts but it is still the truth. Try as you might you still can't change the truth.

This would depend on what you mean by "tolerant."

I am rather intolerant when it comes to my medicines, I want my pharmicist to be 100% correct. Same thing with my surgeon. Would you go to an obstrician that DROPS 0.1% of the babies delivered?

I am intolerant when it comes to my airline pilots. I want them sober, clean, and trained. I would get upset if I landed at the wrong airport; it's bad enough that my luggage goes to the wrong place, let alone the airplane.

In religion, we are dealing with ultimate reality. What you believe really does matter. Are you familiar with Pascal's wager?

According to Pascal’s wager, one cannot lose by wagering that God and immortality exist. Even if one cannot prove God nor an after life, it is a good bet to believe in him. We have nothing to lose. If God does not exist, the life of the believer is a great life anyway. If he does exist, then so much the more. Not only is this life great but the one to come will be even greater. So, believing in God and a life to come is a good bet, both for this life and the one to come.
The wager cannot be avoided. We must either believe in God or not. Since we can’t avoid betting, the odds overwhelmingly favor betting on God.
The game of life must be played. Even those who end their life, must play the game; they only shorten its duration. But assuming there is no God to meet beyond the grave is a big gamble—one not worth taking. But assuming there is a God is a gamble not worth missing. For believing there is a God pays in this life for sure and possibly in the next. But assuming there is no God brings unhappiness in this life and the possibility of more to come. In Pascal’s own words, “That leaves no choice; wherever there is infinity, and where there are not infinite chances of losing against that of winning, there is no room for hesitation, you must give everything.”

These things matter deeply, so beliefs are held deeply and strongly. It is better to argue for what you believe than to believe nothing.

In a few years, I will be dead (if not sooner). Few people know me now. After my funeral, my family will remember me for a while, then they will remember me on special occasions, like my birthday; but soon even my family will forget. In two generations only my grandchild who is a geneologist will even know my name. I will be dead.

But I will also be with God!

2 Corinthians 5:6-8
6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord --
7 for we walk by faith, not by sight --
8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

Where will you spend eternity?

I think Muslims are the ones that cause all the trouble. Every other religion here puts up with ppl bashing them except Muslims. All they do is cut and paste and abuse u, Then try to tell us Islam is love.

You are absolutely right. We should all just be quiet about what we believe. I wish all 6 billion of us would do that.

But when someone tells me I am wrong and they are right - what do you want me to say - that I was wrong?
No way, I'd much rather say - show me the proof.
And the Bible aint proof.

As for them - they cant stay quiet because they beleive they were ordered to preach. I call it invasion of privacy.

After spending years of research and seeing everything in perfect hormony (balance) it can be one Creator and that He has given the final Revealation of Islam & final prophet (pbuh). Hence one should be a true muslim and believe in one Allah.

Sounds good.......BUT.....believe it or not, this is almost a sport for some of us. We kind of like to "rumble." It's just a war of words to many of us. Mostly we just growl. Seldom bite. Nevertheless, I admire your expressive abilities and your rather "neutral" voice would be welcome here. As long as you've got a thick hide. lol
