The Bible in Mark 6 verse 11 says
If any place will not welcome you and they refuse to hear you, as you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them..
which means if noone wants to hear your message, then stop preaching to them, and move on somewhere else.
So now if a christian says to me "You're going to hell if you do not accept Jesus as your saviour."
I answer, "you truely believe that I will go to hell?
They always say yes.
My response is " Then thats your problem, because I know I'm not going there. Now that I have rejected your beliefs, you are commanded to leave me alone, and go away. It says so in your bible. If you dont know that, then I am smarter than you."

ooh, Texas, ouch. Yeah. Kind of the bible belt down there, eh? Yeah, you can say that, or you can just live and let live. Being an atheist myself, I get a little weirded out by atheists that try to "convert" Christians and others into not believing. Really, some of them can be as crazy as the evangelists.

I am not mean to Atheists I meet in person. It is immoral to treat any fellow human being negatively and to pass judgement on them. Most of the time I simply don't pay attention to them, which is what a Christian should do... or else a trip to the confessional may be in order.
One need not associate themselves with people who condone sin though so while I think they shouldn't slam doors in your face or swear at you, I do think they should not pay you any mind to avoid conflict of interest.
(most Atheists I know treat me like dirt though...)

They are supposed to love them. Be kind to them. Show themselves to be Christians through their actions. Too many Christians are angry and feeling justified in terrible behavior because they are sure they are right. It is our job to be like Christ and Christ was kind to everyone. He never persecuted. In fact he ever only critisized hypocritical believers. Bear with us, we are a work in progress.
However I would like to ask, how do you treat Christians? So many times atheists treat Christians like we are ignorant fools or crazy. Be respectful. You can respectfully disagree and you can even respectfully ask that we quit discussing religion with you, but if you are rude, it is sometimes hard not to return the rudeness. We should, we are held to a higher standard, but we are still human.

It depends on where you live honestly. I have lived in bible belts and in not such religious places. One is as bad as the other, lol.
Ones pushing religion, the other is pushing against it.
People just need to let everybody believe what they believe. I'm Christian, and very few of us are "over the top". But you do have that small group, who seem like they are EVERYWHERE. I get a knock on my door weekly, or some pamplet on my door atleast.
I have managed to offend each of the religions living here, lol.

First, read the book You can't dispute a book you've never read. And second, Christians are fallible, just like everyone else. Christians get irked that people bash their religion. And then they get rude. If you're going to discuss religion, do it nicely.

I'd suggest you move to a blue state, but we need more people like you getting texans and such to understand that there's a difference between what they *believe* and the actual objective truth.
You could always accept their rudeness as something you should be proud of.

Sorry, off the subject. What part of Texas do you live in? I live in Texas too, in the Dallas area. Just wondering.
P.S. I'm agnostic so I understand the problem

the recent testomony responded that one for us. "Love your enemies and pray should you despitefully use you." As i am going to in all likelihood under no circumstances meet those people, there is no longer some thing i am going to do for them in my view. yet i am going to listen the wear and the melancholy of their postings, and that i'll take them to God for help from him. I also refuse to communicate faith. Does no good. and many times makes people grow to be more desirable wanting to help their concepts. Jesus reported now to not solid pearls in the previous swines, and Paul reported to stay away from arguments that only deliver about try. there is not any factor to debating. yet is someone ask a serious question (or a minimum of one to which i am going to provide a serious answer) i am going to "provide a reason behind the wish interior me" and then bypass on. with somewhat of luck that flowers a seed that God can some day use to attain them. extraordinarily if I upload prayer. yet there is not any think about getting disillusioned because they're impolite idiots. it is their difficulty, no longer yours. quite you only comprehend it is a cry for help, and pray for them.
