Another interesting paradox, given that god is all-knowing and all-loving, and he knows the future and the past -- he is the alpha and omega.

We're supposed to believe that an all-knowing, all-loving god, WHO KNEW THE FUTURE AND PAST, got surprised and upset at how things were turning out, so he mass-murdered all his children with a flood??

Interesting idea -- except for the fact that god knows the future and how things turn out, so how did it surprise and anger him? A COMPLETE PARADOX, and a fatal flaw in the bible.

Even with the notion of FREE WILL. It doesn't matter. An all-knowing god, who knows the future, already knows how people will act on their free will. HE ALREADY KNOWS THE FUTURE. So why get angry and kill everyone? Why even set it all into motion, when YOU KNOW THE FUTURE and YOU KNOW YOU WILL FLOOD THE EARTH AND MASS MURDER ALL YOUR CHILDREN?

Way too many fatal flaws in the most critical, pivotal stories in the bible, for it to be the real word of a god.

My school friends used to go to church, but now they say it was only because everyone else was going... They grew up in a family basically run by their mother; their dad often ended up in jail, and their uncle, basically their "father figure," whom they highly look up to is atheist (at least to my knowledge) and often supports bad ethics and lack of morality. One of my two friends has gone to such lengths as calling his mother a b*tch in public and the other could care less what she wants. They seem to have been raised without a home to retreat to because the only one they have ever had is often in disarray. I think that Christianity is a great way to help them along in life but they seem to take the idea pessimistically every time I talk to them about it. They seem to talk to God expecting an audible, verbal answer from the man Himself but obviously it hasn't worked so far. If you have serious strong faith and a simple, yet strong reason to back it up, PLEASE HELP before its too late!

Locke said, “...from the consideration of ourselves, and what we infallibly find in our constitution, our reason leads us to the knowledge of this certain and evident truth -- That there is an eternal, most powerful, and most knowing being.”

GOD'S EXISTENCE: All- powerful or omnipotent (physical); All-knowing or omniscient (mental); and ever-present or omnipresent (spiritual).

MAN'S EXISTENCE: Living (physical), human (mental), being (spiritual).

GOD'S ESSENCE: Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
MAN'S ESSENCE: Mind (mental), Body (living), Soul (spiritual).

To all atheists...I'm a Christian of 21 years. I don't think myself stupid, but neither do I automatically think that an atheist is an idiot. I find your decision not to believe hard to understand...but granted, there are some pretty intellectual atheists. However, when I pose you guys a question, I seem to always get insults or over-used accusations about my intelligence. This is an honest, nice guy looking for an honest answer. I'm used to it not being nice, but really...why are you guys so hateful? Is it that you really believe in God, but you hate Him so you insult Him and everyone who follows Him? Or is it that you're just sick of everyone getting on to you about atheism, so you lash out (and usually in a very wrong way) at others? This isn't accusation time, I really want to know. Someone give me some real answers.

When the Sanhedrin were contemplating what to do with the apostles Gamaliel gave sound advice:

If what they have planned and done is of human origin, it will disappear, but if it comes from God, you cannot possibly defeat them. You could find yourselves fighting against God. (ACTS 5:38-39)

TODAY CHRISTIANITY IS THE LARGEST RELIGION IN THE WORLD. IS THIS BECAUSE OF DIVINE PROVIDENCE?

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Do they believe that there was some separation of matter that made everything how it was? What made that matter... was it the scientists who Created it, before science could even exist?

This question may surprise some of you as much as the notion surprises me, but there are a few people here complaining that the use of the word "evolution-IST" somehow undervalues the validity of the facts underpinning evolutionary theory. The -ist part doesn't confer the status of unsupported belief onto one's acceptance of a concept and it doesn't make it derogatory (it's the tone of the people using a word that does that). You wouldn't object to people describing themselves as a realist, a feminist or a pianist, would you?

So my question, directed specifically at that minority who seem to think that the -ist in evolutionist somehow undermines it, is - what are you on about?

God loves us, correct? He made us, he is our parent. We have so many Atheists and Non-believers nowadays. Theoretically they are going to Hell for Not believing. So if god Loves us so much wants us all to worship him, why doesn't he guide us or appear to all of us in such a way that it makes EVERYONE believe?

Clearly his methods are not working. He is our parent, shouldn't he guide everyone in a more Obvious matter?
