My school friends used to go to church, but now they say it was only because everyone else was going... They grew up in a family basically run by their mother; their dad often ended up in jail, and their uncle, basically their "father figure," whom they highly look up to is atheist (at least to my knowledge) and often supports bad ethics and lack of morality. One of my two friends has gone to such lengths as calling his mother a b*tch in public and the other could care less what she wants. They seem to have been raised without a home to retreat to because the only one they have ever had is often in disarray. I think that Christianity is a great way to help them along in life but they seem to take the idea pessimistically every time I talk to them about it. They seem to talk to God expecting an audible, verbal answer from the man Himself but obviously it hasn't worked so far. If you have serious strong faith and a simple, yet strong reason to back it up, PLEASE HELP before its too late!

God does not speak audibly. If he did then it wouldnt be a Spiritual experience. God speaks to me when I meditate. If I have a serious question or fear I'll meditate on it for enlightment. Usually God's message comes to me in the form of "Brainstorms" or a great and encouraging idea.

Because of this personal relationship with God I've learned alot. He has taught me to love all of his children. This elliminated bigotry from my mind. He gives me peace of mind when things look scary. And whenever I approach a fork in the road he always points me in the right direction. It's a very moving experience.

Before I discovered God, I was addicted to drugs, no career, surrounded by a "bad" crowd, and miserably single.
After I discovered God, I cleaned up my life, got a BS degree, have very supportive friends, and just bought my first home.

Believing in God and being a christian is a two way street. You can't expect to dishonor mom, live any way you want to and expect God to respond. Poor Mom has tried and I know she prays for these kids...I hope you do too.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but not everyone can be a christian.
It isn't like they'll go to hell for not believing, so just avoid the religion topic.
if you want to help them, do it in other ways.
