My Mom has been going through alot lately, and I know she likes this type of music. (We really can't agree in the music department,so I'd like to play it safe and get her something I know that she likes)
Can you name a few good Christian artists?

Faith seems to be a regular excuse for people who don't use their brains for thinking, but want to claim that they are right anyway.

Muhammad use to divide his time among his wives to prevent jealousy. On the night it was Hafsa's turn she went to go visit her father. She returned before expected and she caught Muhammad and the maid Maryam in bed having sex. Hafsa was furious and first told Aisha; soon the rest of wives found out. Muhammad was ostracized by wives and the sex scandel caused him much trouble that he justified his actions by revelation (66:1-4)

Christians, feel free to answer this if you want, but honestly I am more curious towards my past kind, not you....no pun intended. Alright on to business Evolutionists: I had a questions, when I was a evolutionist myself I was stumped by the question Christians always asked. So I am gonna ask all of you what they asked me. There are literally 6500 languages in the world. And all humans orginally (in your idea) came from monkeys....so how did we end up with 6500 different languages if we all came from one type of monkey?
No pun intended towards any of you. I am just exstremely curious as to what you say it is. The bible explains it rather well. so what say you?
Nice answers only please ya'll, I am not intersted in your "idea" I am intersted in hard facts, aka proof. And no website addresses either. I need answers....Thanks
~Kat

If they existed thousands or years ago doing their Magic and Trickery we would have lots of literature written about them today, followers, and worshipers correct?

1. The "unexplained" is not evidence.

Using God as a dumping ground for everything you dont understand is only the evidence of lazy thinking and you being bias towards any other possiblities. The top scientists are 85% Atheist, 10% agnostic, and 5%. theist. That's because the more you know, the less likely you are to believe in God.

A. Why is the "unexplained" not evidence? (Ex. How did everything
come about, unborn babies, ect.)

Just because scientists haven't figured out everythiing yet doesn't mean we should pass them off as being miracles. That would be nothing but assumptions, not facts.

B. So called "miracles" are not evidence. (They're never investigated)

C. "Delusions" are not evidence. Mentally ill people see things that aren't there all the time

D. The "bible" is not evidence. It's all hear say. So many contradictions. http://www.evilbible.com How many times has it been rewritten?

E. A "feeling" is not evidence. "Feelings" have mislead people

Religious believers think that their loved one is going to a better place to be with their God, so why upset? It makes no sense, or is it really a case of the religious believer being selfish and feeling bad for themselves. Why not a huge party in the streets, celebrating the movement to a better place, or are religious people just genuinely not happy that their loved one went to a better place? Please help me understand.

President Bush's Office of Faith-Based Initiatives funnels tax-payer money to religious organizations that are then allowed to violate anti-discrimination laws and promote their faith, even in programs funded by the government.

Specifically, should the President be allowed to set up this office in the White House to promote religion without court review or scrutiny?

When you stand before God and He ask you about ministering His word to those that our lost;

Will your preaching and ministering be as precious metal that stands the test of fire?

Or

Will it be wood, hay and stubble that swiftly and quickly burns?

Would you disown him? Keep in mind that he will "never" find his way back to Religion. His/Her decision is final and permanent. Would you love Him/Her less, disown, or get angry?

This has happened in so many cases.

What sort of things get one immediately excommunicated from the church? Does anything guarantee hell?

2007-01-23 10:31:39 · 12 answers · asked by Rat 7

Let's see...

1. Your "god" creates the Universe.

2. Your "god" creates heaven (a utopia) and hell (some sort of burning lake of fire).

3. Your "god" creates mankind and gives us souls (parts of us that live on after our physical body dies).

4. Your "god" demands reverence, respect and worship from all of mankind while we are alive on Earth.

5. If your "god" does not recieve reverence, respect and worship from certain people, it (your "god") casts the souls of those people into hell for all eternity.

---------

IN CONCLUSION:

Your "god" either (a) has serious self-esteem issues (b) suffers from an inferiority complex (c) is bi-polar or (d) is just plain f*cked in the head.

So which one is it?

I'm a Christian. A firm believer in God and His Word. And although I've appreciated Kent's stand on Creation, I was frustrated with his evasion of taxes. Now, I'm not revoking my Christianity and turning atheist; I'm just disappointed that there's yet another black spot on the name of Christ and His followers. What do you guys think about this? Does this change anything you thought about Christianity? Do you let it affect you?

Social constructs, social interaction?

I saw a show on the Discovery channel in which several scholars were interpreting a certain passage from the bible (I forget which one) and saying that the story was all metaphor of what was happening at that time in society (concerning politics and economics). They made some very clear points which seem incredibly plausible, almost impossible to dismiss.

How much of the bible was written to represent, in biblical terms, what was going on in society at the time it was written?

Please, just factual answers. Don't preach.

A lot of people claim to be the second coming, and what if one of them is telling the truth? What if God tests your faith, which one are you going to believe? If he/she walks up to you and tells you they're Christ, would you have the faith to believe them, or would you think they were just another loon?Or would you follow them blindly and possibly end up with them wanting to have sex with you and then kill you in a ritualistic fashion?(if they were an actual nutter) What if you do what the majority of Jews did and think that the Second Coming is just another guy that lost his marbles? You might think you'll be able to tell, but will you really? Is the new Jesus already here, locked up in a padded cell and a straight-jacket, bouncing off the walls in some asylum?
