If so, why didn't he give them one 2000 years ago? Along with electricity, computers, and indoor plumbing?

I'd say that's more evidence against god.

God created EVERYTHING IN THE UNIVERSE. to ask Him to make a DVD player is like telling a dead body to play dead.

God couldn't create a son that he wouldn't kill. That's like buying a DVD player knowing full well that the warrantee wouldn't be worth crap.

More to the point, could he create one that is so powerful that it can both play and record, it can play all regions and it can crack DRM. Oh, and make it dual HD-DVD and Blu-Ray play/record.

If god can manifest one of those in my house, I may have to reassess my atheism.
