Mithras also died and was buried in a rock tomb and was ressurrected after three days....all well before that guy Jesus allegedly did the same thing....

COINCIDENCE? I think not.....obvious case of plagerism.

Um, point of order, Hercules was not technically born of a "virgin" mother, since Zeus was his father and there was some god-mortal action going on there. At least in the version of the myth that I read. Any Hercules has few similarities to Mithras or Jesus, so he's not the best example here.

But yes, many similarities between the Mithras and Jesus stories, the birth of the god-man to a virgin mother as result of a holy union is a common theme in many early religions.

There are no written records about Mithra till the mid second century, so any borrowing done was Mithra taking from Christianity.

Hercules was not born from a virgin. Zeus actually had an affair with the woman in the story. In the Biblical account, God did not "have" sex with Mary, the Holy Spirit miraculously impregnated her there was no actual sexual interaction.

I'm not taking any time to research this, but as I remember Hercules had a twin and I believe he was the son of his mother's husband, so I can't quite see how she could have been a virgin.

I read in Weekly World News of another virgin mother found in Florida.

By god, it's a conspiracy! I always heard about Mary's "perpetual virginity" but I never realized she journeyed around the Middle East bearing gods. The whole thing makes much more sense now.

Not just those 3. Horus, Ra, Attis, Dionysos, Jason, Perseus - all virgin births.

It's the same story, just in 3 different versions where the names were changed. Most ancient stories are like that.
