I will attempt to explain it like this: The next breath of air that I take, I have faith there is going to be oxygen available to me to take it. The same with my faith in Jesus Christ, my next prayer I have faith He will listen to. I have faith when my back is against the wall He will help me out. I have faith when doctors find something wrong He will make it right, and has done so. I have faith that at the end of my life there is more than just a hole in the ground. Faith covers a multitude of things for a Christian. Faith gives an inner peace when everything is falling to pieces around you. Faith gives you the knowledge there is a light at the end of a dark tunnel in your life. Faith is a delight for the Lord. When we put our trust and faith in Him it is His delight. He knows his children love Him and trust Him. It is none of your suggestions.

The beginning point of faith is believing in God's character: He is who he says. The end point is believing in God's promises: He will do what he says. When we believe that god will fulfil his promises even though we don't see those promises materializing yet, we demonstrate true faith.

5. A belief in things not seen. Faith is not shutting out intellectual thought. There are some people who seem to think so, but perhaps they are the weak minded ones for not being openminded

The word "faith" is interchangable with "trust". Like, I trust my doctor's advice, even though I don't always understand why he want me to do certain things.

Very Good Question... i would like that to be answered as well...
It seems that instead of trying to understand the Bible they just say... we don't need the knowledge, we believe in Jesus... (not all... let me not generalize)
