I think it’s pretty obvious that a Christian science teacher would be tempted to allow their beliefs to interfere with their role as a teacher and a child’s education would suffer as a result. Christians have to decide; do they want their child to have the best education possible and maybe eventually contribute mankind’s progression or do they want their child to strictly follow their religion and offer no hope of technological progression to their fellow human beings?

You people that don't believe in Christ make jokes and laugh about him. It hurts christians. Just like if I said one of your parents was fat. But you people are too ignorant to see. You have to have proof. But don't worry, you will get that truth in the lake of fire. I am so venomous tonight because all you do is put us down, call us brainwashed. Come up with something else. Is that all you have? You are brainwashed too. By evolution. You say we put you down, That is all you do is put us down. So, my question is, how will you feel about laughing at God when you look into is face and he sends you to the lack of fire? I bet you will begging him to accept you but too late.

Ps,

They way I see it, if I can truly forgive someone for a wrong they have done to me, and continue to love them, then in a spiritual way, that is a strength. It seems to be something I am able to do because I can recall many times in my life where I have been able to forgive various people in various situations...and the results have been good. I have noticed few people see things the same way. In fact my forgiving nature has been called 'stupid', 'doormat', 'dumb' 'weak'...by people. It seems the world does not value my ability to forgive. People see at strong to walk fight, walk away, and hold anger toward others. How do I handle this? What can I say/do to these people when they critisize me for something that brings love and peace to my heart? The world seems so upside down :(

God created us and we are under his dominion. In Genesis, God gave man dominion over the animals, both land and sea. Is the best example of how God deals with us, the way we deal with our dominions? For example: we love our dogs very much! they disobey, you get angry! why? because the instruction you gave them was for their own good. For their safety and well being. If they misbehave you punish them. If they behave you hug and reward them. Same as our kids.

Of course, every Dog has a different master and not one powerful one, but Im talking in context of you, as an individual over the pet.

In the covenat which God made with Aberham, we see that God has required aberham to offer up his first born son, born of his wife sarah. We also see that God spared the young mans life and counted Aberham as rightious for his obidence.
Gen 22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only [son] Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
God relents and the child is spared and a lamb is provide by the Lord to be offered by Aberham. And Aberham offers the animal to the Lord. This the blood of the covenat on Aberhams side.
After these events we see that God created Immanual The christ who is Jesus.
Notice the name Immanual which means "God with us"
isa 7:14 and matt 1:23 confirming this.
Now as this is a blood covenat, God had to offer a equal offering or a greater offering as compared to Aberham offering. for the Covenat to be enforced. My question?

i just don't get it. how will beleiving in a dead person bring you to heaven whereas if you don't beleive in him, you will go to hell?
why do people beleive in hell? i mean, isn't it a little unfair that catholic priests get to do whatever, but since they are beleivers in christ, they get to go to heaven? where a jew who has never sinned in his life goes to hell because he isn't christian?

If you believe in God, do you think about his vastness and power and incomprehensible nature when you pray or are you thinking of a humanoid God who built the universe once and spent the rest of the time judging human creatures on every little mistake they made?

There are plenty of biblical stories out there that try to explain the ways of god. I believe Jewish stories are the best ones out there...Like, comeon. I grew up watching the Rugrats passover special. ;)

But there are stories that truly do bug me. Like the story about Abraham. In the story, I guess you are supposed to sacrifice a animal for god (or something along those lines)...But god goes to Abraham one night and says, "Do not kill the animal. Instead, kill your son." Abraham was all for it. He prepared to kill his son and as he was going to stab him, god says, "Wait, stop. You have passed my test" (or something along those lines).

God only wanted to see how much Abraham loved him.

Now, personally I would NEVER kill my own flesh and blood for some voice that I heard in my head.

But that's just me.

Many previous responses indicated that I crossed the meaning of purpose and confuse it with "function".
-Purpose - 1 a : something set up as an object or end to be attained
-Function - 2 : the action for which a person or thing is specially fitted or used or for which a thing exists : PURPOSE
Merriam-Webster
Purpose and Function are interchangeable. If some species have a function or purpose and that is the nature of this world, then why does it not also make sense that Humans could not only have a function or purpose in this world but a higher purpose in the universe since we have the ability to comprehend it? What is the function for this understanding? I truly am just trying to understand, but the answers I get do not answer my questions.

they split up and make new churches is because they interpret The Bible in different ways, I agree so what's so bad about bishop interpreting The Bible for you?

since the knowlege of interpreting has been passed down from the apostles (the style of interpreteration)... that is why catholics don't split like the protestants do.

If you were watching your infant son sleep, and you suddenly had a vision - or revelation - of the future, of him starting a nuclear war and being responsible for the end of the world? And when you came out of the vision, you little son opened his eyes and smiled at you?

I often wondered what the parents of some really horrible person - say, Hitler, or Jeffery Dahmer - would have done if they could have seen the future. What are your thoughts?
