this is not clean to me why human beings think of we are having some sort of ethical breakdown. What solid previous days could we opt to return to - the days whilst relationships between adult males and girls folk have been so unequal that girls folk have been generally little greater advantageous than property? or maybe whilst different individuals have been actual property and then we saved them subdued thereafter with brutal scientific care and government sanctioned discrimination? maybe we could beat the hell out of a few gay adult males and, oh wait, we are nevertheless doing that. Implied on your question, maybe, is the thought a upward thrust in Atheists and hence an exodus from the church is to blame for despite ethical subject concerns you think of we'd be having. i can not spend the time to record all the it appears that evidently inhuman, much less immoral issues performed interior the call of religion by the centuries. substitute does ensue. now and returned those transformations do no longer resemble the social systems we've grow to be familiar with, yet that doesn't inevitably mean morality is disintegrating.

Good question, I don't think so, infact you can say people use morals more now than ever. Thats why we fight against death penatiles, why there is no slavery no more, why drugs are illegal etc. All these things were widely accepted in the past and now are consider by most morally wrong. And these are only a few example of how morals have changed for the better.

if you are asking if man's morality has changed or not changed since the stone age the answer is a resounding NO it hasn't.(which would make the answer to your question, "yes") the difference between now and then is that with technology we, in the "western" world are bombarded with immoral thoughts, ideas and actions at a greater pace through the various media around us that is so very easily accessible.

Depends on whose moral you are using to characterize man and what you consider to be the stone age. As far as I'm concerned, Americans are too bound up in the morals of religion which seem to go back to our puritan roots. I think American society and government needs to spend much more time worrying about how individuals conduct their lives (including their choice to partake of vices). The time spent on issues like gay marriage, abortion, flag burning, and 'under God' in the Pledge would be put to better use focusing on issues like the state of our educational system or ensuring all Americans have access to affordable health care.
But that's just me.

I would argue that animals, while they do kill sometimes, only do so to eat or protect themselves/offspring. In fact, with the exception of humans, every living thing on this planet only hurts or kills for the direct purpose of self-preservation.
Man has been getting steadily worse from the beginning. Stone age morals, we could use a little more of it if you ask me.

Yes but it use to be worse look at the Roman era where they use to put blind women and handicap people in a Colosseum with lions and the lions did not even want to eat the people so they prodded them til they bit and chewed on the poor people, that is abusive on a large scale. Then imagine this was a form of entertainment for thousands of people, it was enjoyable! That is scary. Yes we our still not up to par but it is not as bad as it use to be.

yes it is. we have evolved so much, but not nearly as great as we should be by now..we should be driving in hover vehicles, not worrying about stone age gasoline, but power derived from the sun.. there are lots of ways we should be advanced but we're not..

God yes, absolutely. And we're devolving on a daily basis. It makes me very, very sad, and I can only pray that we turn it around someday. We seem obsessed with driving God out of our daily lives, and in turn, our sense of morality.

I would say this period is different than any other time period morally...To have it, yet having it in such varying degrees has never been seen in the past.
