Were you a child , a teenager, or an adult.

I was 6 when I felt a calling on my life. What about you.

Perhaps you have never sought spiritual aspects nor ever tried.

Why are there atheists on a religious forum if? Are they seeking GOD. I hope so.

The main problem with gay marrage is that the Christian religion opposes it. If it is legally enforced, Christian churches can be forced BY LAW to marry gay couples. This degrades one of the core beliefs of christianity. A law would make it possible to sue churches for not marrying gay couples. So, churches could be punished by government for obeying our gods law. Or break gods law by satisfying government. With the convienance of seperation of church and state, that christian opponents constantly refer to. The main question is what about seperation of state from church??

Matthew 5:27-28 "You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery. But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

This verse clearly applies to the men only. One should not assume it applies to women also because that would be adding to the scripture. Is it a sin for women to have physical desires for various men? If so, please tell us where the bible says it specifically.

Almost every country believed in God in on form or the other. Why did this begin. We may have evolved from animals but animals don't seem to follow God or do they? They just eat and mate. But surprisingly every human being from every place, humans did believe in God. Africa, Asia, Europe, Americas or wherever. It is not realistic to say that we wanted someone to be ruled by someone, that's why we created the concept of God. Mind you we evolved from animals and no animals wants to leave its dominance. And it cannot be coincidence that we just humans preferred God.
We cannot blindly say that as superstition too. It would be surprising to know that some religious texts were very scientific too. For instance look at Hindus they had almost every science ages back. They had Yoga for body health, ayurveda for good cooking, kamasutra for pleasure, vedic mathematics for calculations, artha sastra for economics and the list is too long to discuss here..more...

By the way, Montesquieu was a real person when he wrote down his Trias Politica. And still we seem to value some old fairy tale more than the holy words of Montesquieu.

Why is that?

Let's assume, just for argument's sake that a god exists who created us all. You seriously think that same god would want his creatures to treat each other this way? A way where any majority can, when ever they please, take away basic human rights from any minority.

It rained for 40 days and 40 nights. NOW, up to that time, there was no water at all on the face of the earth. There were no clouds at all either! SO, where did all that rain come from and where did it go when the flood waters were gone?

I watched the film Contact in which Jodie Foster gets told she can't go on the mission because 95% of the worlds population believe in god (the script is fairly rubbish here and I don't understand how religion had anything to do with the other happenings in the film.)
Anyway I cannot believe that this is true so I wondered what the facts of the matter were.

For instance, when he was tempted to do sin "X", if he actually did it, would God have denied him re-entry? Would he have had a chance to repent and be forgiven?

Hindus especially like to carve their own gods out of wood and stone.

HAB 2:19 Woe to him who says to wood, `Come to life!'
Or to lifeless stone, `Wake up!'
Can it give guidance?
It is covered with gold and silver;
there is no breath in it.

What do you think????

Do nuns have religious retreats for laypersons? Meaning, someone like me wants to attend a religious retreat with nuns, but not be a nun, would that be possible? I know religious and prayer retreats exist, but I've never seen any advertised in my area. I was thinking if there are any in say, from NY to VA, that would be wonderful.
