By the way, Montesquieu was a real person when he wrote down his Trias Politica. And still we seem to value some old fairy tale more than the holy words of Montesquieu.

Why is that?

Let's assume, just for argument's sake that a god exists who created us all. You seriously think that same god would want his creatures to treat each other this way? A way where any majority can, when ever they please, take away basic human rights from any minority.

Any god who thinks that way is not a god I would want.

The Christians have always wanted their religion to be the law of the land. Now that is finally changing and they think they are being targeted or stripped of their rights. Have to love the irony.

In the US we are slowly working our way to equal rights for all but it is indeed a long, uphill battle. Three cheers for Massachusetts.

Why is unnatural sex a "basic human right"?

I thought that Thomas Jefferson argued that basic human rights came from nature, and nature's god? Assuming that Jefferson was right, then non-biological sex would seem to NOT be a basic human right, since it would be against nature.

Besides, why do gay people want the legal right to marry anyway? In countries where gay marriage is recognized, like Holland, the majority of gay couples refuse to get married, and the majority of the few couples that actually did rush to the altar immediately after the passing of the new law were divorced in a few years. Why fight for a right that you do not intend to use anyway?

You may wish it to be true.

Don't know about your fairy tales but the bible says that mans inhumanity to man is nothing new. We were not designed to rule ourselves and now it is survival of the fittest.
If we let them take away our rights please be assured that God will deal with them in his own way.

Why are you pressing the issue so much? if you feel that strongly about it then move to a place where it is acceptable, get married and have a nice life. Otherwise, understand that Sodom and Gamorah started out with that minority and look what happened? they didnt care later if the person was straight or not. If that happens on a larger scale, as more and more young men turn, then our species would die! what part of that do you not understand? go, get married and enjoy!
