Do nuns have religious retreats for laypersons? Meaning, someone like me wants to attend a religious retreat with nuns, but not be a nun, would that be possible? I know religious and prayer retreats exist, but I've never seen any advertised in my area. I was thinking if there are any in say, from NY to VA, that would be wonderful.

The best advice I can give you is to look up the local dioscese in the phone book and call them to find out what programs are available.
I once did a Cursillo retreat and it was an awe-inspiring feeling to attend it. You might see if you dioscese participates in this program. If so, I highly recommend it.

First, let's be clear that there are at least three communions of Catholics. In order of size, these are the Roman, the Eastern Orthodox and the Anglican. The communion with the strongest claim to be the oldest and to be directly descended from the earliest Christian church is the Antiochan Orthodox. The communion with the most modern and intelligent approach to discussing Christianity honestly and fearlessly is the Anglican. The comunion with the most local churches is the Roman. There are plenty of places where you can go on a retreat with nuns. Many are listed in the Directory of Religious Life. Contacts: Telephone 705-786-3330; email ; website .

ABSOLUTELY. Feel free to contact any one of the various orders of religious Sisters and they will gladly assist you in finding a retreat. I can speak from experience of the Carmel Retreat House in Mahwah, NJ - it is wonderful. The internet is loaded with retreat houses and Catholic organizations - seek and ye shall find!

Is Maine too far? I was just on one this past weekend. Its literally right on the beach....not too far up in Maine. Go to www.mariejosephspiritual.org. Give them a call. Email me at sweetp0218@yahoo.com for more info. Use the word "retreat" in the subject line so I don't think its spam.

I suggest you contact your diocese's office of spiritual development like the one in New York:
Archdiocese of New York - Center for Spiritual Development: http://www.ny-archdiocese.org/education/spiritual-development/
With love in Christ.

you should retreat from the roman catholic religion, it is a false teaching and won't get you to Heaven.
its a shameful religion, but the truth will set you free.
Read the Bible and get the truth.

your best bet would be to go to a catholic church and ask them what their policy is on all of that
