Yes. He was fully man after all. But he said Let this cup pass but thy will be done. In other words he struggled yet overcame the temptation.

Fascinating question...
Yes there was always that chance.....otherwise His life would have had no significance and therefore no value.
He "triumphed" in the crucible of Adam's failure..
He "was tempted in every way - yet without sin"
God Almighty took on a "grave risk" . Counting upon the faithful obedience of His only Son. The Father's trust was vindicated in the loyal life of Jesus Christ - the 3 categories of temptation were presented to Him. He remained TRUE.
This triumph enabled Him to overcome the enemies of all humans - death, the grave, and eternal punishment. We triumph in His Triumph.
If He had failed we would have failed with Him....There was no other qualified to represent both heaven and earth. His virgin birth enabled him to begin without the "sin heritage" of the off-spring of Adam. Each of us need only to repent...not of sins...but of sinfulness...in otherwords...our Adam nature and predisposition to sin. When we agree with heaven's ruling - "Guilty-worthy of death" we are given the opportunity by God Mercy to receive the very nature of Christ- that nature proven to be holy. Then by God's grace we are offered "son-ship".
This is so extravagant and gracious that most reject it as too fantastic to be true. Most but not all. I believe.

But also since he was Jesus no amount of temptation would have caused him to commit sin or it would have defeated the entire purpose of the Bible and him being sent into the world in the first place. We have to bear in mind that he was sent to should us we can overcome Satan's temptations.

I think so. Jesus was a man and born as we are, with freewill. Why else would Satan had tempt him if it were not possible. Thank God, Jesus chose to worship God and die for us all.
