I asked this question in another way, and I was misunderstood, so I will try again and see if I can attract the advice of some practicing Buddhists.

I read that Buddhists take refuge in the Three Jewels of the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha for strength and wisdom. The Sangha, as I understand it, is the worldwide community of Buddhists.

So how can I take refuge in something that doesn't physically exist where I live? I am from an area of the world where there are no temples, teachers or laypeople. Even the books I read on Buddhism have to be special-ordered through the internet.

I'm having a hard time functioning as a Buddhist in a vacuum. I have no support. Is my spiritual practice destined to fail if there is no one else around to support me?

Please offer anything you have to share. No preaching, please. I was a Christian before, and I still am to some respects, but I will not convert.

Why didn't god use some organic matter to create man. Wouldn't that have made it a little easier?

I think one of the things I'm most tired of seeing here, is the question of "How do Creationists explain Dinosaurs" followed by a parade of Atheists claiming we don't. I am a Creationist and I believe dinosaurs existed, I dont know a single Creationist who denies it. When fossils were first uncovered relating to dinosaurs, yes, Christians doubted them but it's been decades since that has been the case. It's almost like these particular atheists (as it isnt all of them) think they will convince Creationists to NOT believe in Dinosaurs.

Could everyone PLEASE stop saying Christians do not believe dinosaurs exist?

What is the origin of morality? If evoluton is correct and humans are highly evolved matter-with no soul or spirit-- why do we have a basic sense of what is right and wrong?

By man I specifically mean King James.

Considering the fact that the KJV was translated from the Masoretic hebrew text, but new bibles (New American Standard Bible/English Standard Version ) were translated from a completely different set of NT manuscripts (earlier Egyptian minority texts) as well as the ones used by King James, I am thinking that the KJV is incomplete.

Therefore if you believe that the KJV is the infalliable word of God, doesn't your faith lie in King James?

Deuteronomy 32:51 This is because both of you broke faith with me in the presence of the Israelites at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the Desert of Zin and because you did not uphold my holiness among the Israelites.

Now if he broke the faith, and neither asked for forgiveness, nor sacrificed an animal to repent for his sins does this mean Moses is going to hell? If you say "yes" then aren't we all pretty screwed.

I mean God wouldn't even let Moses into the promise land, arguably his greatest admirer (if Jesus is God he doesn't count) so what makes you think Moses is in heaven, God never said "It's your time to join me".

I can understand appreciation, a nod, perhaps a 'wow, thank you, that was really great'....but not suddenly dropping down to the ground and bowing like a biatch saying 'oh great god, pity me, i am not worthy'

I'm worthy baby

You all believe in the scriptures you hear in church and bible study, you know the positive ones about living life to the fullest in John, and love thy neighbor. But what about the negative ones that talk about killing and judging and why arent those followed as well, do you feel as most of non believers feel that your religion is slightly hypocrital at all. Now Im trying to ask this to inform myself on your personal feelings and thinking, quoting me scripture is not what Im looking for, try and give me an answer from the heart, not something you think would match biblical scriptures word for word...please dont bash me also, if your a Christian or Muslim, I just want info not words telliing me Im not as good as a you or whatever, thanks

Why do so many people take it upon themselves to say that how I or another believe is wrong? Do they even know? Fact of the matter is no one knows FOR SURE what the truth is. Everyone is entitled to believe what they feel is right for them, especially if it is a belief that does not harm others. If the Christian God (come the 'end' of time) is the only belief that humanity should have had I am certain He will forgive those who sought to find something that was right to them and lived their lives positively. God is not as unforgiving as some make Him out to be.
