He's not. Homosexuals have served in vital roles throughout history, many times as spiritual guides.
In American Indian culture, homosexuals were known as the two-spirits. They were considered gifts from God, who had a unique perspective due to having both a male and female spiritual form. They realized quickly that these members of their tribe had a unique spiritual ability and were elevated to spiritual leaders for the tribe. It wasn't until Christianity was introduced to them that the tradition stopped.
Even today, many homosexuals have a unique spiritual side. It is unfortunate that Christians reject them because of a few misinterpreted, or out of context passages. Especially, since spirituality seems to be so lacking in Christianity today.

Admittedly, it may not necessarily be a choice. Environmental factors (childhood molestation, people the person hangs out with) have a factor also. Despite this, though, one must keep in mind that many other detestable sins aren't always a conscious choice. Is pedophilia always a conscious choice? Does someone get up one day and say "You know? I'm going to be a pedophile."? That's not how pedophiles and psychologists describe it. Is bestiality a conscious choice? Is lust of any kind a conscious choice? What about if a son falls in "love" with his mother and marries her when grown? No. They are not, but there are scriptures in the Bible that describe all of these as sins.
So, from this, we can agree that the Bible is against pedophilia, bestiality, and lust, which are all not conscious choices. But, then again, if someone has a natural inclination to all of these things (I suppose this is how you would define "born with"), why would God be against them?
Plus, consider the fact that pedophiles argue the same point homosexuals do. A pedophile being interviewed on CNN in a prison speculated that he was born with the behavior. John Walsh (not a pedophile, of course) on Larry King Live speculated that pedophiles may be born with this behavior and they need treatment. The fact that pedophiles can get support for the idea that they're born with it and they need treatment is shocking, especially considering the fact that this route is oddly familiar.
Homosexuality was first perceived as a "sickness" and then, in 1973, the American Psychology Association took it off its list of mental illnesses. Right now, pedophilia is seen as a "sickness." Seem familiar?
As for being born, we are all born with the inclination to go against God's will. It is a consequence of Adam's fall and sin being introduced into the world. We are all born with the inclination to sin, but it doesn't make it right at all. That's why God would be against homosexuality, and pedophilia, and lust and marriage of one's mother or father. They may have seemed to be natural inclinations, but wrong is wrong.
God bless you.

Because there is no such thing as god. It was made up to scare people into being good. Kinda like santa claus. "Be good or santa won't bring you any toys."
Homosexuals do not have a choice as to who they are attracted to. Did you choose to be attracted to men (I'm assuming your female) and if you did when did you realize it? That's because you didn't choose it. That's just who you are draw to. Same with gays except they are drawn towards the same sex instead of the opposite.
To the girl above me: I know exactly what you mean! There have been many days I've completely sworn off men all together.

it relatively is this difficulty-loose question that forces maximum evangelical Christians to INSIST that being gay is a decision. using fact no remember if it is not a decision, then one in each and every of three issues might could be actual: - God is pleased with gay human beings, regardless of what the Bible says - God is merciless in bobbing up something he hates - God does not exist utilising "Bible good judgment," being gay could be a decision, using fact all the different suggestions are taken by using evangelical Christians as needless to say untrue. No quantity of technology on the subject remember of homosexuality will shift this theory for those human beings, the two. even while technology finally conclusively proves homosexuality is inborn, they'll deny it and contact it junk technology and/or secular lies. Why? using fact the alternative may be to provide up hating and positively initiate loving (interior the Christian experience) gay human beings, and that ought to make their little worlds might come tumbling down around them.

Because some people think that being gay is a choice. Of course, it's interesting that they were born heterosexual, but think that preference is something you can "choose".
I certainly didn't choose to like men. I just do. I've said - and meant - many a time that it would be nice to be attracted to women, because I understand why they think the way they do and why they react the way they do, whereas men drive me bonkers. But that doesn't mean I'd ever, ever switch teams.

Solution 1) God doesn't exist, and homosexuality is fine
Solution 2) God does exist, and homosexuality is fine
Solution 3) God doesn't exist, and homosexuality is wrong
Solution 4) God does exist, and homosexuality is wrong
Solution 3 goes right out the window. Homosexuality is only condemned in religious texts.
Solution 4 goes out then, because if god exists, he creates homosexuals (homosexuals are born that way, they are not "turned" or "perverted"). And why create something he hates?
Well, that makes homosexuality ok, whether god exists or not.

Thats the exact issue. Right winged conservatives (who are also Christian) don't like accepting that homosexuality is genetic because it would mean that God made people who are inherently choosing "sin".
It has been shown that homosexuality occurs in animals, which would suggest it is not a chosen lifestyle, and that people are more likely to be gay if a member of their family is gay, which again, shows that it may be genetic.

Good thought, as The bible has given most of a chapter to this subject. Romans 1.
If it were meant to be good for people then HE would not speak out against it. Right ?
Therefore, HE has made it perfectly clear that Homosexuality is definitely a sin, especially when He dedicates a chapter to it. Not only, but He speificially preaches FOR a man and a woman, that is just why HE created Adam and EVE, NOT Adam and STEVE. No pun intended.
It's too serious for that.
Good question though. !!

Homosexuality is talked about in the Bible, so I believe it is a feeling... you do choose your emotions and how you will react to things.... look at criminals more closely child predators.... to you taking a picture of a young girl, like your child, in the bathtub nude is cute and innocent to a child predator.... it turns them on... is that a choice or is one born with it.... ? First off God said that all sexually immoral will find themselves burning in the lake of fire and brimstone... so if he told us that why would he allow them in heaven... God hates sin.... You have free choice and he gives you that freedom every day of your life to chose right or wrong...

God punishes the mentally handicapped, certainly he wouldn't have a problem sending some people he created with the desire to love within their own gender to hell! He creates the sociopathic murderers who don't know right from wrong and they break the sacred commandments, never find jesus, and burn in hell. he creates the retarded who cannot understand what jesus means and they suffer their whole lives dealing with their retardation, and then god sends them to hell. god might even have allowed them to be born to an alcoholic mother and father which caused the reduced brain capacity!
IF you say that god doesn't, in fact, send these two to hell because they were mentally incapable of making the right choice then you admit that ignorance can get you into heaven. that if we never knew of jesus then we'd all go to heaven. that being the case the worst thing christians ever did was spread their jesus around the world ensuring that billions if not trillions would go to hell. if they had just kept it to themselves we'd ALL go to heaven!
OR,
God sends retarded people to hell.
